Georgia fans can you give me the lowdown. I'll be there with the GF with lots of booze so I forget the game.

TIA

Arches Bar, Bourbon Street, Double Barrel, Magnolias are all great bars you can go to

ETA: Silver Dollar is clutch too

If just two of you, don’t bother. Hit up the bars/restaurants downtown before the game and just walk to the stadium past tons of tailgaters. Park in one of the lots downtown. It’s about a half mile walk downhill there,

I've never been to a traditional "tailgate" in Athens. We usually hit up the bar scene before the game. Lots of good joints in Athens.

ETA guess I should have read the other responses first, but they are right. The bars are the way to go at a UGA game.

Bar scene it is.

Since it's a night game what time do the garages fill up?

Only a handful of garages best bet park on the street in a meter area and pay the fines later it’s cheaper !

Not a UGA fan but I went to the UGA-LSU game back in '04, and lived in the area. Campus was totally trashed every Saturday, from one end to the other. It was awful. Should be fine before the game though.

You can park at Georgia Square Mall and catch the shuttle right to the stadium

Welcome to 2019. The rules have been changed and the campus is no longer trashed each time. Thanks for bringing up some old shite that's no longer relevant

Go to Meyers quad and tailgate. I doubt anyone will be too much of a dick because mizzou is not a threat

If you’re going to bars, I recommend magnolias, silver dollar and generals... enjoy

If you want to actually tailgate, travel to the Ramsey deck on East Campus. You can by a parking pass..lots have season pass holders but also allow purchase until full (usually mid afternoon for game). There is plenty of tailgating around. It is .8 mile walk to stadium or you can take the busses that go straight there.

There are nice bathrooms in the Ramsey center.

Enjoy..and no, our campus hasn’t been a mess in years. That was a different time when they put entirely too few trash receptacles out.

Allgood is legit. Bar scene is legendary and plenty of food options, plus you get to walk through North Campus to stadium.

Best actual tailgating is South of the stadium (Meyers Quad, Brooks Mall, ECV). Most visiting fans don’t make it that way unless they wander around or are heading to a tailgate.

Tailgating on North Campus has been all but eliminated since the mid 2000s. You’ll see a few tents but no generators, grills, or music is allowed on that part of campus

Which bar would you recommend to watch the LSU/Bama game? Anyone in particular with better tvs?

Take your pick. Any not in the hipster/townie area will have the game on. Mags was always my go to for sports

Welcome to the Classic City! Hope you have a great time (except at the game!).

Have fun, but be safe.
