Universities shouldn't be involved in criminal justice matters in the first place.

did the plaintiffs ALSO get council paid for by the university or at least have the right to bring in their own lawyer? If they had the right to do so were they even informed?
It's kind of an important to know all the details instead of parsing out a single line from the lawsuit.

The way they have handled the Johnson and Williams case has been awful. I haven't heard any evidence against them other than he said she said. AJ can kiss his once promising NFL career goodbye by the time he is cleared.

Couldn't agree more. Sorry I can't upvote but once.

For what it is worth, Tennessee is the only state that allows this.
We may be the only ones who operate this way but I doubt it's a matter of the state allowing it. Colleges and universities were given broad discretion long ago to setup how they handled student conduct, including serious offenses like sexual assault. Many mistakenly placed this in the hands of students as if it was the same thing as a student getting drunk and doing something stupid in his dorm. I'm glad we didn't go that route and that is as much for the protection of any victim as it is for the accused.

When you're questioned by the police, they don't have a lawyer but you can if you wish.
A university system is functionally the same thing.

I misworded that a little, meant the University of Tennessee schools.

Anita Wadhwani has a personal agenda against Tennessee football. She's never written an article concerning the team that doesn't paint the picture of them all being law breaking thug POS's. What she says can be taken with a grain of salt.

So you're saying her hush money ran out?

I'm saying she reports bullshite and over-exaggerates it. The AJ Johnson/Michael Williams/Riyahd Jones story and investigations are 2 years old now, and she decided to bring it up again. None of them have even been proven to have been guilty. Also she uses very generalized statements. "Over a dozen players have 'been reported to' have done some illegal shite." Which players, what exactly did they do, and who besides yourself reported it? Her agenda couldn't be any more obvious.

Ole Miss is the most corrupt football program in the NCAA right now.

Disgusting is what you're trying to do with all these threads.

Only an Ole Miss fan would actually be dumb enough to believe Wadhwani's baseless slander. I guarantee that nothing will come out of this that directly affects our football program, because there is little to no evidence to back the claims up.

Guilty of what? Somebody is suing the University for allowing students accused of a crime to have access to an attorney.

I don't know who that reporter is. But it sounds like you guys are just trying to fry her for surfacing a long history of heathen practices.
