Mizzou is better than people think. Tenn probably isn't a top 10 team right now

I got jumped on twitter last week when I asked Kendall Rogers why UT was still ranked a top 3 team... I kept the receipts. I think Mizzou is a sneaky good team, and I also think UT isnt a top 15 team right now.

Their reply was that its too early to tell blah blah...

I agree where we are today isnt where we will be in may, but at the same time you can't just keep UT in the top 3 without any quality wins, and some bad losses...Now add in a potential sweep

That is a prime example for why I hate pre- and early season rankings.

I think polls should start after like a month for baseball. Then you can at least try to properly rank teams.

Crazy how much Tennessee regressed this year. They haven’t beat a power5 team yet

They returned great pitching but ranking them #2 preseason when they replaced every starting bat in their lineup was a mistake

Early ranking may be bunk, but I would hesitate to write anyone off this early. Especially with the proven pitching that the Vols have.

I’m not writing anyone off but if you looked at their roster, then struggling to score runs shouldn’t have been a surprise. It’s even a lot harder to pitch when you don’t have dudes you know will mash behind you every night like they had last year.

How can you explain the high scores on offense so far for Mizzou?

I think some of it is arrogance on their part and some of it is not having the same mojo they did last year. They knew they were going to score runs last year. A lot easier for a pitcher to relax in those conditions, whereas this year the pressure us all on the pitching staff

This has been painful to watch. This team better come together quick or this could be a long season.
