Also, it isn't the same, we're talking about two teams with Charlie Strong
Then do you think that Texas is a good football team yes or no?
On paper they should be among the best in the country.
And an argument isn't petty just because it opposes your line of thinking... You seem like a dick.

Why are people even talking about Texas here?

It doesn't oppose my line of thinking. I never made that argument.

A&M posters are in a thread about their coach. It is only natural that they would talk about Texas, yes?

So you're a dick?
Thanks.
Thanks.

What are the chances that Strong goes back to the State of Florida and coaches at Miami once that job is open. Brett McMurphy seems to think that is a real possibility...

If he gets run this year, there is a chance. I don't think they let him go. They love beating Oklahoma there. That might be enough to keep him around as long as he finishes winning the games he should.

Which ones are those?

Well, buddy, update your rankings:
quote:
The 'horns had a comparable run in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Does that mean that Austin is a head coaching destination comparable to USC ... today?
By the same token, the 'horns have won 25 Conference championships to only 11 for LSU. They have also won 4 National Championships, versus three for LSU. Does this mean that Austin is a preferable job to Baton Rouge?
The desirability of the job is dependent upon many, many factors. Despite the history in Austin, no sane coach would set foot in the pit of vipers that is the Longhorn Moneyed Alumni.

Kansas and ISU according to FPI.
Should be manageable.

1. Sumlin would be foolish to leave A&M right now. He just got a huge upgrade at DC, the missing piece if you will. New Stadium, which I don't care what any of you say is amazing. Recruiting is at a high enough level now to win a NC.
2. USC is not going to hire someone who runs a Spread/Air Raid attack of any sort. They are a Pro-Style offense, and will continue to be as long as the people who are financially supporting the program are alive.
3. Lateral move is a little strong, but A&M is an attractive job right now, pays well, and really he has nothing to gain by going to USC. Just doesn't make any sense.
I kept waiting for the troll... What do you think you are doing? On a serious note, the one that that puts us above USC at this point is the SEC. Kids want to play in the SEC and it was the single most important factor in taking us from a 2nd tier team to a 1st tier team in terms of coaching jobs. Sumlin knows the state is rich in talent (33mil people.) He also knows that kids want to play close to home and VS teams like LSU, Bama, etc etc... I can't tell you how many kids have said, "i want to play in the SEC" on signing day.

Let me put it this way, if he finishes 3-3 or better, I'd say he's bought himself some time. I think two are gimmies and he'll have to surprise K-State, Baylor, or the Tortillas.

You asked, I told you. "Thank you" is the generally accepted way to acknowledge such an interaction. You're welcome, my man, you're welcome.

USC is a lateral move at this point. Don't see him going anywhere any time soon. He hasn't won anything yet, still has a lot to prove
