Most of you Aggys bring nothing to the table when it comes to these threads. Yall pop in and post "melt" over and over and over without even glancing at the posts.
Yall seriously cannot go a day without posting about LSU.

If you really beleive you have equal talent why does your whole fan base say they would be happy with a 70ish ranked D?
That's just a function of our ridiculous offense.
Nothing more, nothing less.
I don't think anyone's said he'd be "happy" with a 70ish-ranked defense; just that it's about all we'd need in order to succeed (when leveraged against the offense).

Pretty much.
I just woke up from a nice nap and looked to see yet another 10+ page thread of corndog melting.
We understand you are still hurt from Chavis

What? We have SEVEN frickING 4* athetes in the secondary, not including Brandon Williams. We also have a shite TON.of depth with an equal number of 3* athletes.

I don't know about that; LSU is in our division, and there are exponentially more LSU fans on this board than there are students/grads from other schools.
Combine those facts with both the history and proximity of our two schools, and there's bound to be some jawin'.

How many times does this need to be proven false before you guys quit saying it.
aTm's defense was 77th in scoring last year so a top 70 defense isn't enough to succeed. aTm needs a top 40 D, at minimum, year in and out to win consistently.

That would be one hell of an underacheivement if you do in fact have equal talent don't you think?
Because (theoretically speaking) with a top 10 offense that forces opponents to play the same style of offense, coupled with the only guy who has consistently proved he knows how to stop that type of offense, we dont't really need to care about having a top 10 defense. We just need to be able to stop the spread-type HUNH offenses.
If that makes no sense to you, let me know.
It was the best move Sumlin could have made. I am not going to sit here and guaranty success. But it was without question, the right move to hite the guy who can stop us and teams like us.

Maybe, maybe not.
It'll depend on what other teams around us do.
Throw out the 70 and replace it with another number that's quite a bit higher than our offensive output, and that's the bottom line: That sometimes a sick scoring squad can offset an anemic defense.
Remains to be seen for the upcoming season, obviously.

Chavis isn't the only one who's stopped aTm's defense anymore. Smart's D just shut you guys out and OM's D embarrassed y'all. I'd say hiring Chavis was a good move but acting like it solved the issue of Sumlin's O being handled is ignorant.

So why do more players who play in college make it to the pros?
The NFL doesn't have a minor league to place talent in for years. Less spots to fill.

Giving up 27 PPG is going to lose 3-4 games per year, every year. There's no denying that.

You're not entirely wrong. There were other factors. We had an acoholic sophmore QB with a freshman backup to complement our horrible defense that never set up the offense for any kind of success. All anyone needed to do was run the football and we couldn't have consistent scoring drives like we did in the past. We were forced to play ball control ourselves instead of dictating the offensive pace, like in the past.
Again, it was the right move because, now that Kyle Allen has his feet wet, we can be the HUNH and force HUNH in response. The theory is that Chavis can shut down the response.
... In theory.

I haven't seen LSU GrandDad yet.
That'll complete the mob.

Sit down and watch the LSU vs Auburn game from last year and tell me more about stopping the HUNH. Bama, Ôle Miss, MSST, LSU, and ULM all had Stumblins number last year.
