Just moved into a new place/state today, saw a Sam's Club and didn't even consider getting a membership.

It's too bad CostCo is about 45 minutes away, I'd probably get one for it.

What makes Sam's superior to Costco is that there is always a Wal-Mart next door to Sam's.

UCF alum Walmart employees like to play practical jokes. One of the perks of the job.

50% of UCF grads are employed at Walmart. UCF has established a pipeline
The other 50% are employed at Burger King.

I went in Wal-Mart in Perry, FL

If you think that's bad you were about 20 miles away from Dekle & Keaton Beach which is in the same county...The folks there would make the folks in Perry look like they were from West Palm Beach.

My first teaching job was in Cross City, just down Highway 27. Kids used to talk about going to the Oaks Mall in Gainesville on the weekend like it was a trip to Disneyland.

Check out the "Road to Nowhere"...a county road that was allegedly supposed to connect Steinhatchee and Horseshoe Beach, but was never completed and abruptly ends in the swamp. With a couple of mile-long straightaways, it was frequently used by drug smugglers to land their planes and unload their cargo of marijuana. County commissioners and law enforcement were always on the take. Allegations sere always that the county commission built the road specifically for drug smuggling.

I've lived and traveled in third world countries all over the world, and to this day, Dixie County, FL, is one of the most backward places I've ever been.

Be jelly of my milk price too at such a trashy place

I paid $.97 a gallon for milk at Aldi Saturday. $.68 for a dozen eggs. Great prices and good quality on their store brand items.

We used to go to Steinhatchie in the 1980s and fish the flats for redfish. On the river there was one cinder block motel with about 10 rooms, one restaurant, one bait shop, and a guy that had a fish cleaning station.
Went back a few years ago and it looked like every beach town everywhere. I now go to Maine for coastal fishing.

Our gallon milk prices were at dollar most of last year, now they are about the same as yours. I get most of my groceries at my WalMart neighborhood store.

We’re getting ripped off in SELA. I paid something like $2.79 for a gallon of GV (Wal-Mart) brand milk last week.

I only go the the neighborhood market (grocery store). Going to the big Wal-Matt feels like being in Barcelona during the running of the bulls. Too many cattle-like people either loitering, taking up the entire aisle between one fat couple standing side-by-side, or recklessly rounding corners without concern for the possibility there may be a person or child on the other side.

Too stressful for me. My BP is high enough as is.

I live on the FL West coast from 4th grade to 12th grade and had never heard of that area, or ever come close to it for some reason.

Perry, FL

Been there. Been to Cross City, Steinhatchee, Mayo, Suwannee, and all over that part of Florida. Good people throughout.

It and the people that live there are no different than any other rural part of Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, etc.

Southerners making fun of southerners in a Walmart is a real example of stupidity at work. I would bet almost everyone on this thread shops at Walmart.

And, Photoshop is fun to play with because so many people are southern Walmart shoppers.
