If it’s too hard for this guy who is raking in $8 mil a year at a school that thinks 8 wins a year is great, he should resign. There are plenty of good coaches who would gladly meet for drinks and beg NIL for a paycheck like his. Sounds like he is already half way out the door.

He sounds like a spoiled guy who thinks he shouldn’t have to do much other than show up on the sidelines in the fall. I’m no football genius but I’d take his job for a mil a year and you wouldn’t hear any complaints out of me. Not one

He shouldn't be paid that much for mediocre football. That can be said for many coaches.

All those raises could be spent on assistants and better players. A school like Kentucky that is already behind the eight ball when it comes to history, prestige and recruiting doesn't need an overpaid coach.

No one is forcing him to stay. He should either suck it up or leave. He is a real whiner

He sounds just like Calipari sounded. Calipari praised Arkansas for giving him a $5mm chunk for NIL and said he was more than pleased that he didn't have to raise that money himself like he had to do at UK.

Now Stoops is saying the exact same thing, basically pointing straight to his Administration to give him some help & assistance because the rigors of re-recruiting his own roster + recruiting the portal + recruiting high school + actually evaluating his players + game planning + scheming for the opponent and coaching are too much and he feels like he's being forced to do it all alone.

Agreed. But if I was a HC making $8-10 million a year I’d probably give up $1-2 million of that to hire someone to completely deal with the NIL side of things. Or at least deal with the vast majority of it.

Exactly. I’d give up the money to hire a great GM to deal with it.

The cost is worth it for sure.

Most of these coaches just want to coach the game, and not schmooze donors.

But that has always been part of the deal, way before NIL and the portal.

Agree. But now it’s 10x what it once was. Plus, they have to recruit their own roster constantly and you know they can’t coach them hard, or they are afraid they will leave.

There is a reason you’re seeing more coaches look at the NFL.
