Stetson Bennett - Game Manager?

Stetson Bennett leads all SEC quarterbacks in both Passer Rating and Yards Per Attempt. This, he does, while also having the fewest attempts per game among all of his peers. He doesn't throw often, but when he does, he is lethal. That's what the numbers say after a full season.

That pass to Burton yesterday was a gorgeous drop into the bucket
He feathered the ever living shite out of that ball
Guess everyone else in the country is allowed to get better from one season to next, except for the Mailman

If Greg McElroy can win a national championship at QB, I don't see why Stetson Bennett can't.

So he's the next Joe Burrow?

I was in the “bench Stet for JT” camp but he has made several throws that show me he is more than a game manager this year. He made 3 or 4 throws against Tech that were very good throws no matter who you are - one on the TD to Burton, one tear drop crossing route to MRJS, and his 2x TD throws to Bowers were very good.
All that being said - he still does occasionally miss some easy throws that JT has never missed. But he also scrambles like discount Jonny Manziel too.

He's improved his deep ball a lot. Still occasionally has some accuracy issues but at this point, with UGA's D and run game, he's good enough to lead them all the way. He's very similar to Greg McElroy with Alabama in 2009, but he's a much better runner than Mac.

Bump for the Monday crowd.

A strong run threat helps that combination.
I miss a deadly playaction game setup by dominant ground game.
Bennett is a great story. Hard not to like him

I feel like "game manager" shouldn't have negative connotations. A good quarterback is a good game manager.

Yea, as some of the original fans of game managers I don't think any of us would have anything negative to say about a QB who does his job, takes advantage of what the defense gives and runs his team well.
Bennett has been near perfect this season. His story is awesome. He basically refused to give the job back to Daniels by just continuing to be nearly perfect all year long.
