Because he wins games, runs a clean program, and graduates his players. In addition to being our all time winningest coach.

Why do you think he should be fired?

Do you realize that over the past decade we are one of the top 4 teams in the SEC? That is far from mediocre. We should be LOADED this year. I will say this, if we dont have a good year and make the NCAA tournament and do some damage there I may change my opinion. However, things are set up for us to be VERY, VERY good this year with Bost, Sidney, Moultrie, Hood and company.

I'm sure you've seen his teams play.

Just a terrible waste of talent.

Has he had a team with any (((chemistry))) at all?

By what measure? Certainly not NCAA Tournament play.

No it isn't. The SEC has been horrible over the last 10 years.

You have a talented team almost every year with Stansbury. At some point I would hope that you'd realize that the problem isn't the players.

The 2003-2004 team that was 28-5 and was ranked as high as 6th during the season. We won the SEC that year with a 14-2 record. We hit a hot Xavier team in a 2 vs 7 matchup in the 2nd round and they shot 63% from three and upset us on their way to the Elite 8 where they narrowly lost to Duke.

Well LSU had a similar situation with John Brady and we see how that has turned out.

Renardo Sidney has spent the past 6 weeks in Dallas with John Lucas working on his game. The word is he dominated out there, lost some weight, and improved his post game.

Sidney may be the best big man in the SEC this season.

And Eloy Vargas will be playing with and against NBA caliber players with the Dominican National Team this summer (and on campus at UK).

By your logic, that'll also make him the best big man in the SEC.

Unless Renardo fixes his attitude it doesn't matter how many sprints the kid runs.

FTR, I have my money on Anthony Davis for that best big man in the SEC title in the meantime.

Here is a list of NCAA Tournament wins since 2000:
Florida 23 wins -2 national titles
Kentucky 21 wins -1 final four, 3 elite 8s
Tennessee 10 wins -1 elite 8, 4 sweet 16s
LSU 7 wins -1 final four
Alabama 5 wins-1 elite 8, 1 sweet 16
Mississippi State 4 wins-0 sweet 16s

That is the definition of mediocrity.

John Lucas has been working with Sidney this summer and he is supposed to be the best at working with kids like Sidney who need to be motivated. I think the fact that he knows he has to produce to make the NBA will motivate Sidney

Davis will be a good one, but don't be surprised if he plays on the perimiter some similar to Terrance Jones. He can handle the ball and shoot from outside. He is not your typical back to the basket big like Harrelson was last season. Im anxious to see ho Pel uses the 5 this year. Most of his teams from Memphis had bigs like Joey Dorsey who could bang as has UK with Cousins, Orton, and Harrelson.

And Vargas is terrible. End of discussion on him.

Name ONE coach that Mississippi State could go out and hire if we fired Stansbury that would come to Mississippi State.

We have a good coach who know's the State of Mississippi and can recruit in the Southeast as good as any coach in the country. His X's and O's aren't the best but he still has won a lot of games.

They fired a shitty coach who rode a stacked team to a Final Four, and followed it up by hiring possibly an even shittier coach. You do realize that it wouldn't be a very difficult thing to hire a coach better than Stansbury don't you? There are dozens of assistants at major programs around the country who at least wouldn't have blown a 20 point lead in 6 minutes against a horrible team like Auburn.

Conference championships, much less division championships, are completely meaningless in college basketball. All that matters is what you do in the NCAA tournament, and Stansbury has proven himself comically inept in that venture.

Name a couple if you can? I honestly dont think that the Mississippi State basketball job is very attractive to coaches and I dont think we can find anybody better than Stans. That's my argument and Im sticking to it.
