Oven baked meat smothered in soupy BBQ sauce is not real BBQ. Carolina BBQ comes in dead last when it comes to BBQ.

Q generally refers to pork shoulders or whole hog, then you have ribs (pork), Brisket (beef), short ribs (beef), chicken (chicken), other (various meats including sausages). These are the proper terms. You guys really should secede from Mexico and join the United States of America.

Huh? Have you ever been to the Carolinas? Trust me, nothing you wrote describes any aspect of any of the 3 different forms of Carolina barbecue (Eastern NC, Western NC, and that mustard thing they do in SC, which I admit isn't to my taste but certainly doesn't match your description.)

No Q does not generally refer to whole hog. If that were the case then almost no one would be bbqing.
Q is the method of low n slow with smoke.
If you want to go back and look at the origins of BBQ you will find plenty of whole hogs over a fire spit. It somewhat recent history it was used to for poor southerners to make shite meat taste good. Yall had pig in most of the south. We had cows in Texas. You even tried to eat a brisket not cooked slowly for hours and hours on end. It's damn near impossible.

Count me amongst those who are actively workin’ on it.
But we’ll still happily share our BBQ with our neighbors.
Texas means “friends.”

Putting the argument about barbecue away for a moment, the deep South has the best sides of any region in the country. That much I feel confident in saying.

sorry for the slip. The mississippi state koolaid is really taking a toll. All i can think about is success and #winning all the time. It is evident in my writings.

Good bbq'd meat doesn't need sauce. Sauce is to cover up mistakes. Texas bbq just needs a good rub and some smoke...

When you go to a BBQ someone has been cooking for 12-24 hours manning a pit with a hog on it or a shoulder. Clearly everything isn't bigger in texas. it is overvalued, overstated, misrepresented and a bunch of garbage. You city slickers don't know shite about BBQ. World Championship BBQ festival isn't in texas son.

Carolina bbq is the shite. Their vinegar bases in NC and even the mustard-based ones in SC are awesome. Their demise comes with the Cole slaw. You need to leave it to a good south Mississippi Cole slaw. Very Peppery. Not overly sweet.
