Wednesday was a long day for Jermaine Whitehead. Thursday might be even longer. The next four weeks, for that matter, could be different than what the four-star cornerback from Greenwood, Miss., expected just 24 hours ago. Late Wednesday, Whitehead candidly discussed the impact of Manny Diaz's departure and his emotions as friends C.J. Johnson, Nick Brassell and Tobias Singleton wrestle with their own college choices. Brassell should head to Tuscaloosa.

ah, gotcha.
Does it actually say anything worth mentioning? Don't have an account over there.

On one hand as a non-rival team of MSU I almost feel bad for their recruiting class to fall apart on them so close to the end of this recruiting cycle, especially due to the loss of 1 coach and coming off such a great season. On the other hand we play @Starkville next season followed by their trip to Columbia. The SEC schedule will be hard enough if we want to repeat as SECE champs, so if MSU gets knocked back down to sub-par that will be alright with me.

He's been an SEC coach for 11 years.
Name me other coaches who have done that.

I know these aren't great examples but i know Fulmer and Spurrier (so far) have and i am sure there are a couple more but my point was more towards the quote you were responding to

and the worst example of him losing a game he has no business losing is JSU

He's also good at winning games he has no business winning.
You win some you lose some.
We're Ole Miss.
I'll be happy if we average .500 in the SEC.

I agree with you on this
but not sure about the sentiment at the end. I agree .500 in the SEC is good, however idk how long i would put up with a coach who loses to JSU, Vandy, and the Tenn loss in my opinion was more Nutt's fault than anybody's
On top of all this before this season i thought he was a great fit for UM now i think UM should look in a different direction given that it is a solid coach

Quote from Diaz in Scout interview.....
Any last words to Mississippi State fans? "I want State's fans to know I didn't pursue the Texas job. It just kind of happened. When things like this happen, it's sort of like God unfolds his plan for you."
Is it my imagination or does each time someone's god is involed in a recruiting or coaching issue we end up screwed?

For some reason God never seems to tell coaches or players to stay at or come to MSU

The Tennessee loss was ya'll getting lucky as frick, and our four win team throwing in the towel when it obviously wasn't our day. Masoli hadn't practiced all week coming off a concussion, too.
I won't blame him for that.
Jacksonville State was all his fault, though.
Man has to win next year. If he doesn't go to a bowl, he's probably gone.
I think he'll at least get us to 6-6.

Says more about the universities that have hired and kept him than it does his own success. Nutt is mediocrity.

i dont completely disagree with this. We definitly caught all the breaks but yall ran the ball all over us but for some reason stopped running by the 2nd quarters also UM ran that uselees WR screen play (even tho wasnt so much a screen as it was a quick out to some WR) at least 10 times and the worst one was when UM went for it on Fourth and 7 around the 50 and UM ran that play.....of course it didnt work and considering how Nutt runs the offense that is squarely on him

.500 in SEC play typically means a 7-8 win season. I can live with those provided we're improving as a program and occasionally win 10+
