Stadium Renovations

Are any of y’all renovating your stadiums in the near future? I absolutely hate what they are doing to Neyland. More suites and other BS amenities for people who aren’t their to make noise. Neyland is a dump but honestly I loved it how it was. It had soul, it was painfully loud. The atmosphere was something to be proud of even in our worst years. What they are doing stings me worse than any loss

Hey I agree with you, but unfortunately these people….
arent keeping the lights on near as much as the people in the suites. Gotta keep the big money donors happy. Especially in the NIL era.

Nah, we've done it several times over the last 15 to 20 years.

Arkansas just got done spending about 160 million about 5 years ago in the North Endzone.

So loud that you had to put speakers on the sideline to blare crowd noise?
Fatphil special right there.

I doubt we were smart enough to do that. Definitely louder than Kyle. Been there in 2016, great fans and friendly people but the acoustics of the place weren’t favorable to noise generation

We are demolishing and reconstructing the entire west side of the stadium and lowering seating capacity by a few thousand. I think it's a great move. The west side is the home side, and the concourse there is awfully outdated.

Y’all expanded your stadium and closed it in on one side. Helping the noise level here we are trying to frick it up

I’m glad they’re renovating it. Also glad they’re kicking those grandfathered in out of their 50 yard line seats that were only paying $1500 for.
The new Jumbotron will look nice and it was sorely missing in that endzone. And the seats they tore out to add it and the party deck were always empty anyway. They should do the same thing on the other end with the scoreboard cause those seats are always returned by the visiting team the last 4-5 years.
Once they fix the concourses on the older end of the stadium and the facade they should make it a priority to get bucket seats in all of the lower bowl.

Totally agree. Kyle Field is extremely overrated.

Neyland needs the love. TV and streaming sports is changing the rules by which stadiums are filled. It used to be that you had to go to Neyland to see the game, but now, even us toothless hillbillies have TV and high-speed interwebz.
People who want to see the game won't pay $100 to sit on a concrete bleacher, giving up half of their space to Bubba's side-gut. It's never going to be like that again.

Bring Dixie back please. I saw it in 09 in the grove when I was a kid and it was moving.

When is this supposed to happen?

I disagree a large percentage of our fans stand anyway. I don’t think I sat down at all during the Ole Miss game. It reminded me of the old days

They are very friendly and the students do a good job making noise. But the rest of the stadium is considerably more tame than, Arky, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, and LSU

Everyone sits in the north endzone. Always been that way.

We renovated the North and East sides shortly after joining the SEC. Renovated the South side a few years ago (looks very Sun-Beltish unfortunately, although the interior facilities are nice). Hopefully we’ll be renovating the West side soon. Need to completely tear it down and move the field/new grandstand eastward so the fans are closer to the field. It’s way too shallow and far away from the field right now.
