Been to St. Louis several times. Never felt unsafe. Seemed ok to me.

Same here. The only time I felt unsafe was the one time when the "Occupy" idiots were squatting in the park across the street from my downtown hotel.

Just saying... I got some fellow white folks that committed armed robbery on mine and several houses in the area earlier this year. They were tweakers but still.

We go once or twice a year - I love St Louis.

I’ve never been even remotely anxious in the downtown area- that’s where the tourney is, right?

In fact, the only time I’ve ever been a little nervous was when we were almost out of gas and had to stop at a station in E St Louis that ended up being an obvious drug and prostitution place since there were chains on all the pumps but the place was packed and ho looking women at peoples car doors. Once we left that parking lot it was all good.

"The Final Four was held in the same place years ago"

Years ago being the key words.

They also had a professional baseball team years ago. Please don't call what they have now a professional baseball team.

Why does it matter??? Every race commits crimes.
..........................................................
Let's see what the FBI says....

Crime Rates
• Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder,
and eight times more likely to commit robbery.
• When blacks commit crimes of violence, they are nearly three times more likely
than non-blacks to use a gun, and more than twice as likely to use a knife.
• Hispanics commit violent crimes at roughly three times the white rate, and
Asians commit violent crimes at about one quarter the white rate.
The single best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percentage of the population that is black and Hispanic.

Little pioneer had a field trip to St. Louis a couple of years ago from Batesville. Took a chartered bus with bathroom and wifi.

Kids have no idea how good they have it made now days.

I’ve been to St. Louis many times over the years primarily for work but also for some vacationing. I’ve enjoyed my visits there and have never had any incidents. Like most cities just use a little common sense in where you go and what you do.
