anyone think the day will come when college starts drafting instead of recruiting to level the playing field? seems crazy i know but i wouldn't put it past some of these SEC haters

He has a point to a degree. The rich get richer in college until something causes them to fall. That's just how it is.

Spurrier could also add that in the NFL the team that wins the Super Bowl gets the toughest schedule the following year.
Imagine the shitstorm if the Packers this year were scheduled to play only the shittiest teams in the AFC on their cross-conference schedule.

Believe it or not, it's probably already happened. I remember hearing a crazy story about the amount of cheating that was going in the SWC. The boosters from the teams in that conference literally used to hold drafts on where the top recruits in Texas were going to go. That was done to prevent the boosters from wasting their money paying the same players.

Spurrier was 100% correct with his observation but he was not advocating change by making the statement.
If things were like they used to be, where Notre Dame could have 250 people on scholarship each season then, yeah, things would still be screwed.
There is far more parity these days. Part of the challenge, part of the beauty, of college sports is when the perceived underdog beats the favorite with lesser talent.
People these days look at talent too much, and fail to take into account coaching and chemistry and fan support.
Here is what makes Saban so very good. He recruits top-notch talent that fits his system, coaches-em-up and develops good chemistry and has outstanding fan support.
Spurrier gets the most out of his talent and has outstanding fan support and develops good chemistry.
Georgia recruits just about as good as Saban, but Richt fails to get the most out of his talent imho. Still, Richt is one of my favorite coaches.
Miles recruits like crazy, gets a lot out of his talent most years, but man does he make some bonehead coaching decisions at times.
I'm just illustrating what makes Saban so dangerous ... although he made some questionable calls in that A&M game imho.

Why tell a recruit who they have to play for just to make it easier on the lazy and untalented coaches?

Honestly, I'd say he made some questionable calls in the SECCG as well, they just paid off. Miss the 2pt conversion and lose on a field goal. Couple of odd play calls that ended up working out as well on 3rd down. He's not afraid to take calculated risks... clearly it's worked out pretty well for him.
