You know who else has to play Bama and UF every single year? Tennessee. And they don't bitch and whine about it constantly. Tennessee sucks and still has more respect than LSU imho.

The SEC AD's & Coaches took a vote right? The vote to suspend the permanent cross-divisional rival games didn't go LSU/Les' way did it?
A vote was taken, so we should talking about it, right? Seems like I heard this recently in a different venue.

Does anyone in the NFL bitch about the schedules not being fair? No, becauase everyone in the division plays virtually identical schedules meaning that everyone has the same degree of difficulty making it to the playoffs. If you haven't noticed, the SEC wins the national title each year, so goal #1 is to get to Atlanta. The paths to Atlanta are not created equal. Do I think Bama would have won the title last year with LSU's schedule? Yes. But that is not the point. The point is that each SEC team should start the season each year feeling that their schedule difficulty is very similar to everyone in their division over time since the rotations from the other division will change every year and if you happen to be unlucky one year, it is what it is, but we all know that Vanderbilt will NEVER be equal to the stature of a Florida or Bama, so whoever has Vandy as their permanent cross rival opponent would have an unfair advantage over their division rivals.

First time I've been back into this thread, but, keep the Bama-UT and AU-UGa games, and let every other team rotate both cross-divisional opponents. Everybody gets what they want
Let's be honest, you guys will find something to complain about.

Let's be honest, it's a legitimate complaint.

How many times do I have to say it? It's not about our schedule, IT'S ABOUT YOURS!

If any program has a right to whine about the inequity of these two rivals over the last decade, it's AU & UT. Oddly we haven't heard a damn word from their coaches wanting these games to cease.
You already know why arguing what you are arguing is stupid.
I will point out, however, that both of their coaches were recently fired. I don't think relying on those two slack-jaws to carry your argument is a good idea. You pick the two schools with the two worst football coaches and, until recently, had the two worst ADs. I think the jury is probably still out on UT's new guy.

Were LSU fans always this whiny, or is this a by-product of the last two Bama games?

Yeah I'm sure you'd be totally ok with it of aTm were to get screwed out of 2 or 3 West titles over the next 10 years because of a jacked up schedule.

I dont view it as getting screwed out of anything. It has nothing to do with being angry or not over injustice, its about the perception of injustice to begin with.

quote:I feel UT's pain greatly. Bama went through even worse shite than UT is going through. We had a carousel of lousy coaches, embarrassment, NCAA probation, scholarship losses galore. And through all of that shite while we were lossing constantly to our cross-division rival, I can't remember a peep coming from any other fanbase about putting an end to the rivalry game. Who the hell was knighting for Bama back in our dark days of getting stomped in the mud by Fulmer and those damn hillbilly's annually?
