I think the point in the OP has been validated quite nicely here
Blinders to truth and even just the opportunity for truth to develop within someone is shut off before it has a chance to develop a new understanding
it's remarkable but not all that surprising given the amount of effort the controllers put into keeping people divided with certain identities in sports, politics, religion, race etc
