true or false?

Golic just made this claim, and after thinking about it a agree.

Totally helpless victim with Spikes, and the eye gouge is just a chicken shite move. Blount was also way out of line, but the guy that got punched did initiate the conflict. Both deserve sizable suspensions.

About the same to me. Just because somebody taps you on the shoulder does not make it okay to punch that person in the face. The Boise State player was not even looking at Blount when he actually got hit

I agree with you. That douche from Boise State deserved to get rocked. Blounts punch was the result of emotion. Spikes bitch arse was trying to hurt someone just for the sake of hurtin 'em.

Whe I think about it more, Blount's entire actions were worse. He not only punched a Boise State player, but he pushed one of his own teammates and tried to go in the stands and attack the fans. Coaches and several of his teammates had to drag him off the field

I agree. I think this is why he was suspended from the team indefinitely. Had he just hit the BSU player, he'd have been suspended 3 or 4 games. But, the other shenanigans is what led to the big punishment.

This is where I come down. Blount was a "heat of passion" crime that came after a crushing loss. Plus, that Boise State prick got what was coming to him. If you cock off to a thug, you get punched. Seems about what you expect.

Spikes, on the other hand, just made a dirt-bag thug move with one intent - to permanently injure a defenseless opponent. The proper punishment would be to end his season. Unfortunately, my sincere feeling is that we won't even get a comment from the SEC on this.

This is how i feel, exactly what you said, Blount was all about emotion after having lost a hard fought game. Spikes was with the intent to injure with no emotion, but just the intent of harm. I'm afraid nothing will come from this, but karma has a way of paying some people back, we will see.

Paid him back already. He was hit without his helmet on during the UGA game. Then, in a twist, Karma paid him some dividends... Did you see the INT at the end of the game?

Not to mention he'll be a millionaire in a few months.

Nice response. This has everything to do with this thread.

There's no such thing as karma, but he does deserve to be shot in the leg

Spikes had has his eye gouged earlier in the day and had to miss a couple of plays. I'm not condoning it either way but you guys act like this has never happened in the history of sports. If UF wasn't ranked number 1 and undefeated would any of you care?

Probably shouldn't have turned away after taunting the guy.

Spikes deserves a game suspension

We care because only thugs try to gouge eyes. He should be suspended at least for two games. There is no place for that in football.

I just watched the video of this. I think they eye gouge was dirty, but its getting blow out of proportion. Blounts tirade was waaaaay worse than that.

This is the same jerk who punted the ball into the endzone after running one back vs LSU. Is anyone surprised Spikes would do anything dirty ?

Conrad Dobler must be proud.

Yes which is of course, stupid.

I'd agree with this with a 1/2 game as an absolute minimum. Even if he had had his eye gouged the play before Spikes should realize that retaliation is always what gets seen/called *See Dallas Baker against UT*
