I think Rice had one year where they had a dude who was like Round Mound Barkley, probably like 6'4, 285 and that dude could ball

Must be talking about Ricky Pierce.

yeah, I saw him at the Erwin Center when I was in school. That dude was just plain ol HUGE. He filled up the paint with his body size. Had that Andre the Giant look about him.

No according to google his playing weight was always 205-215. He probably just played bigger than his actual size.

Edit:Were you thinking of Ken Austin perhaps? He also went to the NBA

I miss the old SWC days.

All in favor of reforming it say ‘aye’!

Perhaps. Do we absolutely have to take Baylor and Rice back?

TCU
Texas A&M
Houston
Arkansas
Texas
Texas Tech

The 3 missing,
Baylor, Rice, and SMU.

Edit: Texas is a basketball state now?

big time

you remember when Channel 7 would refuse to tell the score on Wednesday night sports (because they knew everyone would have gone to church), and then they played the game on tape delay? We would end up going to bed at almost 1am

many don't realize, Tulsa is high academic and private.

(Presbyterian and I imagine Sam Walton gave them money - Doug McMillon got his MBA there)

They should have replaced Rice years ago, or been allowed to join the SWC regardless
