You been to DC lately baw? The people there are some of the most insufferable libs you'll find and there is nothing southern about the city outside of the demographics. Nice city to visit but I would rather live in any other city listed in OP's post

Agreed in these.

worst weather,

Lol. Midwest weather is damn near ideal for 8-9 months a year. Winter is cold, but cold enough to be fun if you're not a pansy. Snow machining, snowboarding, cross country skiing, and ice fishing are badass winter hobbies.

no coast,

Lol. I see they don't teach geography down in Georgia. Michigan has the most coastline of any US state.

Lots of GDP still comes out of the midwest. Give me a smaller city over the concrete jungles of Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, etc. any day.

Midwestern women are purdy, sturdy, and dirty. A good midwestern woman will spend all day fishing with you in daisy dukes and a bikini top. Then filet your walleyes for you, and meet you at the bar for some cold ones with the guys, before going home and riding you like a got dang paint shaker. Yall southern boys are missing out. Fine by me. More for me.

From a Minnesota Baw:

You don't really have to take care of "trash" people every single day and wake up and have to babysit people, economically, that won't work a simple job for a good wage. White Trash and Black People are weeded out.

The problem up here is that most people are getting old and don't want to go to the "Bigger Cities" to retire. They are mostly just some good ole' baws that worked in farming their entire lives...but the South is really lucrative right now.

They pay high schoolers at Dairy Queen $18 per hour. And it would be rare to offer a welder less than $37 per hour for a 40 hour week.

The move is coming though, Baws. They are better educated than you and your kids because they have nothing to do better in the four months of winter than study things.

The South is very trashy due to "reasons". It is very different up here, I assure you. And way better in many ways. Just boring and old.

Just don't judge mid-westerners too bad when they saw an opportunity to try something different down South.

The South is very lucrative and awesome, culturally, but it is still very poor and behind in many ways, especially when you want to pay your family $7.25 per hour to live each day in life. I don't understand why people accept that.

People in the South also pay for Black people to live in the "Projects" and everyone has to pay taxes to up-keep black people's electric bills and living expenses through food cards. Why? That is your money, not theirs. Is there something wrong with their feet or hands that prohibit a daily wage in life?

I never have to worry too much about money up here. Sometimes I have too much, and I can't take it with me on my last day.

Black People are also non-existent too, but I can see how it brings you down as a society.

That seems racist, but facts are facts and you have to deal with that problem as Southerners. Good luck with that.

But, I really like the South. There is probably not a better region on Earth. It is what you make it, I suppose.

They really are missing out on Midwestern women. Such Women would gas up your Chevy at 4am and get the bacon frying on a sandwich before you told them that your 401(k) matured. Then, you both get paid for life for working at least 5 years for a company that contributes to your retirement in money, no matter what.

How do people do it?

Is Atlanta really a great city though? You can’t even go to Buckhead to visit Nordstrom or Bloomingdale’s without worrying you’ll be shot by a gang banger.

Don't know about this . . . at best it is a tie.

University of Chicago and Northwestern are some of the most elite academic institutions in the world. Most every Big 10 public university has a great reputation and ranks highly in all the various systems.

Yeah, wierd claim for sure. The entire Big 10 is incredibly prestigious academically, plus Notre Dame, Washington University in St. Louis, Case Western Reserve, Carnegie Mellon, U Pitt, and others.

Dallas and Houston are shitholes, too. Atlanta as a city is shite. There are some areas in the Atlanta metro that are somewhat safe and clean, but Atlanta proper is pure hell. I work at Children’s Healthcare in Brookhaven and that’s as close to Atlanta as I want to get.

First of all, you had sushi in Corinth. Second, you probably think sushi should be served at icebox temperature. Double fail on your part.

If Michigan’s “beaches” are so great and plentiful, then why are Michigan folks cramming into Alabama and Florida beach towns all spring and summer?

Yes, the Great Lakes are freshwater. If you think that makes them akin to your local bass lake, think again.

Have no argument to include, but that's not enough to overtake a state like Florida.

That is Castaways at North Avenue Beach on the bend of Lakeshore drive.

Pretty great scene there during the summer. Booze and Volleyball all day long. I do miss Chicago summer now that I am sweating it out back in Texas.

You have to remember, Michigan has 2 huge peninsulas to Florida's 1. Both states trail Alaska, obviously. But Michigan has more Great Lakes coastline (3,288 miles) than Florida has ocean/gulf coastline (1,350 miles).

Lots of people don't realize how massive the Great Lakes really are.

I don't think I've seen a list of coastline and/or shoreline that doesn't have Florida 2nd. NOAA puts Florida shoreline at 8,436 miles.

All I can say is that most people prefer Florida beaches because it never gets below zero and the Lake Michigan water would run 60 degrees or so even in late August.

I love the Great Lakes but I could not imagine choosing that over other options.

I don't know how they calculated 8,000+ miles of coastline in Florida, but that's approximately the distance as from the USA to India. That doesn't make any sense at all.
