Is Beamer even necessarily a slamdunk improvement over Muschamp? Or hell, even a promotion of Bobo?

An unknown vs a proven loser. Not a slam dunk though.

I don't think it's a guarantee it's beamer. I do think napier has ground to make up though

It could work out. The Beamers have ties to the area so that could help with recruiting. He has some big time football coaching experience.

I am, I should admit, always a bit nervous about hiring the son of a famous football coach because you aren't getting their dad, you are getting them. So if you hire Derek Dooley you aren't getting Vince Dooley.

Personally I think a good Head Coach at USC could really flip the switch. We know the area generates enough talent to compete, look at Clemson and USC's run under Spurrier before he tanked it.

Looks like Napier wants to hold off and see if Tennessee opens ... I think Beamer could be fine. Coaching changes are ALWAYS a crapshoot

He's interviewing on Saturday so I don't think he wants to hold off. He's from this area so all the talk around him is that he prefers the SC job.
