And UT. No doubt UT and UF have caused their own respective falls but more credit has to be given to SC for their own rise. SC teams of old still would've lost to UT, UGA, and UF regardless of their current status. The difference is keeping the best players in-state to come here. What if Clowney had gone to Bama? If Lattimore to AU? Or Alshon to So.Cal?
Hell how much better would the "Big 3" at least feel if they had beaten SC over the last 2 years? UT would've gone to a bowl this season, would've had at least 7 wins last season, UF would've had 9 wins last season and 8 this season, UGA wouldn't have had its 1st losing season since the '90s and would've won at least 11 this year.
Would UF and UT be the powerhouses of old? No, but I imagine they'd feel a lot better about their programs position if they were able to get those Ws.

We played at Miss State last year, and dropped the home game with them so we could go to #1 (maybe) LSU.
Ouch. That shite sucks.

And that right there is going to be the problem. SC has always had some pretty good talent in state. Yall brought in some hot young coaches (Scott) and some former greats (Holtz) and they didn't do shite. Spurrier was perfect. Finding someone to keep going what he's done will be pretty difficult, IYAM. Especially if UF and UT are on the way back up when that happens.

To be fair LSU was already on the rotation. We dropped MSU at home and picked up Mizzou at home. Both would be tough games but SC would be favored and both and should be able to win anyway.

I have said it before, that Spurrier was a VERY important hire for us back in 2004-5, but the next guy will be even more important than he was.

True. Way to catch that.

What in the world leads you to believe that we're capable of beating anyone, anywhere, anytime? I have more faith in the french military at this point.

Disagree. The architect who lays the foundation is more important than the one who comes after IMO.

I give Spurs lots of credit. I'm just saying he's had a couple of years to break through (I thought he would this year) and win the East. It was the perfect timing for him. That's not taking anything away from USC. It's just admitting that winning the East this year was going to be one of the "less hard" times to do it. USC's improvement does not negate that fact.
I really want Spurrier to win the East next year since it's is highly unlikely we will be able to do so. I would like him to win the SEC altogether but that's going to be a challenge with the West team next year. Not impossible but a real challenge. I think his window is closing with age and opportunity. It won't be long before his age is used against him if it's not already being done. It's just the natural course for an older coach.
Bottom line is that USC needs to get the East title very soon or it's just going to get harder. At the same time, winning the East is going to be harder if USC stays strong.
I think that's a fair assessment. Please replace UT in the Big 6 but that's going to take a lot over the course of many years at least in the eyes of the other Big 6.

Historically, they would be the second hardest to replace if you look at it on a large scale. Don't tell certain fans of a team that both of us dislike though.

UGA/AU/LSU/UF/UT are all pretty tightly packed in together historically. If you looked at the "overall history of the program" (in whatever system you want to use) all 5 of those programs would probably fall in the 8-15 range all time.
I doubt any new team breaks into the big 6, but if that ever did happen it wouldnt' be Georgia, which I think you are implying.

I think USCe should do like Bama and proclaim themselves national champions this year.

If there is one fan base that deserves to have some fun and walk with a strut right now it is USCe. Those guys packed an 80,000 seat stadium year after year of Vandy type seasons and they deserve their fun these last few years without a bunch of Bama and LSU fans piling on about how they will never be us. They know that already so let them have their fun
This. Congratulations SC!

Not just UGA.
