What? This is ridiculous. Plenty of good bars in Birmingham (Innisfree, Oak Hill, Billy's, Dram, etc.).
To the OP - I doubt they will be serving beer, but I don't know. I went to the NC State vs. Rutgers game a few years back but can't remember if they served beer.
Parking used to be okay but alway's made me nervous. No issues though.

Yea you've just never been to Bham. It's a melting pot of recent sec grads and their are several bars that are a good time. I plan on drunkingly smashing some BBQ afterwards.

Pretty sure they serve beer. I usually end up getting some free box tickets (feels like you're on like a 1970s airplane in there, lol) and end up going, pretty sure I crushed some miller lite up there last year.
And lol at the guy who drove back to Atlanta because he "couldn't find anything to do."

We must have gone to the wrong spots, because I was highly disappointed. And they def served beer in the game. I had to drink about ten of them because it was so damn cold outside.

Well hit me up with a bar list then... I have a wedding to go to there in August and wasn't looking forward to it.

Tin roof, innisfree, Billy's, world of beer, Dave's, the J Clyde, oak hill, courtyard south side (not my favorite but hey it's an alright bar), the blue monkey, Jackson's, Moes, barking kudu, Good People Brewery, Avondale Brewery.
ETA: there's plenty of other bars I didn't mention but Tin Roof and Innisfree have the best "scenery" in b'ham

Also, there should be lots of Ole Miss alum in the Birmingham area. It seems like many want to move there after school.

It is in a bad part of town, but there is always a lot of Police present. The best thing to do is park downtown and ride the shuttle buses. Don't park on the streets or you may not have a car when you return. Most of the parking decks in downtown Birmingham have guards on duty that day. Check to be sure though.

Saw's in homewood. Miss Myra's in Cahaba Heights is pretty good too, but saw's is prime, only been open a few years. They've also opened up saw's soul kitchen in Avondale which has a bigger menu, bunch of incredible southern food. It's next door to Avondale brewery. You can get it to go and take it into Avondale. If I were day drinking and the weather is good, that's what I'd do. Get saw's at the Avondale location, and take it to Avondale to sit outside and crush IPA's. Parkside is also on that block and has a lot of great outdoor seating for day drinking.
Then if you want to chase the crowd/skirts that night, head to the lakeview bars.

Hit up Moe's BBQ in the lakeview district or hit up Dreamland near 5 points/UAB
Posted on 12/8/12 at 12:41 pm to TideSatchel
Just dont go, Bham is so depressing
Posted on 12/8/12 at 12:43 pm to parrothead
Moe's is good and dreamland is dreamland, but if you're looking for the best 'cue, I'd easily take saw's over both. Now, if you're gonna do the lakeview bars (innsfree, etc.). Moe's is on that block, and a great location. But if you're just asking about 'cue. Look. Up. Saw's.

Very nice offer bud and I really do appreciate it. But I'm not going to be able to make it to the game unfortunately.
Thanks a bunch for the offer though.

No love for full moon BBQ? I tried it and thought it was pretty good. Have had dreamland before. I like it too.
