Exactly, so it’s a flawed stat. It’s those sec games that matter. Stop acting like a pointless November game vs Chattanooga matters as much
They all matter. The Palace was sold out all season. I would imagine Baylor was sold out all season as well (since Drew is the subject of this thread).
A rabid basketball fan base does not care who their team is playing, they are there and the place is sold out or close to it.

I have no idea who UGA will hire, nor does anyone else. To say that Georgia sucks at basketball therefore they should always suck at basketball does not make a lot of sense. If the administration is committed to improving the basketball situation at Georgia they can make an improvement greatly beyond where they are now.
If you go back about a generation the program at Florida was about as bad as the one at Georgia. They made a commitment and Florida has become a very good program. They have been elite in the not-to-distant past.
The state of Georgia produces a good amount of basketball talent. Coaches at Georgia haven't been able to sign nearly as much as they need to, to make the next step up.
Interesting to see how this will play out.

Some a lot more than others.

I doubt Baylor sold out much before winning big, and still, drew stuck around. He isn’t the idiot you claim he is.

That's not what I said at all. I said that regardless of who they hire they can catch up in spending on basketball facilities in a quick hurry b/c UGA has more $$$ in their coffers than any of the other SEC schools.
And we are in agreement about Drew using us to get a raise. But you misread the rest of it.

Thinking we’re going to get Scott Drew is delusional. I really like Graham Coffey, but he doesn’t have real sources.
I agree that he is probably using us as leverage.
I'm the Sean Miller/Matt Mcmahon camp.

Good post.
Hopefully Hawgeye reads this.

Hugh Durham was fired after showing that UGA could have success but then following it with years of mediocrity.
Tubby Smith came in and brought excitement to the program but quickly left.
His replacement fell flat.
Enter Harrick and company, but Harrick's son and Tony Cole are directly to blame for the path that UGA MBB has taken.
As for facilities, people love to bag on Stegman and say that UGA doesn't want to invest in basketball facilities, but people are quick to forget that a plan to build a dedicated arena on South Milledge was killed because certain parties didn't want to leave the central part of campus.
South Milledge and East Campus are the only places with enough space to build a new arena without tearing down other stuff.
It seems more likely that Drew's agent is working the system for a big payday, but can win in MBB. It just has to decide it wants to do so.

Where is it?
Basketball facilities are poor. Your football program was the last in the league to even get an indoor practice facility a while back.
If all this money is laying around, then why isnt it being used?

How many hairs can you split to hope uga bball never realizes it’s potential?

In terms of basketball facilities on campus, yes...It is much nicer than Georgia.

If you ignore the sec sell outs during 3 seed seasons. Only then.

Must suck to be a hawg sports fan if you are desperate enough to know as much about random bball facilities as you claim to know.
Only an idiot turns down $2 million extra because of split hairs.

I've never seen someone argue so hard about their fanbase being a bandwagon fanbase.
Posted on 3/12/22 at 12:38 pm to DaleDenton
Most fan bases are fairweather when it comes to a 2nd tier sport like basketball. Same goes for Arkansas and Baylor.
Posted on 3/12/22 at 12:46 pm to djsdawg
That is rich coming from a fanbase that doesn't care.

There absolutely is.
UGA has great academics, great town, great fan base, tons of money, and is located right next to a talent rich area.
