Charles Robinson must be a former CIA spy or something. That guy is unbelievable.
He needs to keep his arse out of Tuscaloosa

There was something posted about this on BOL a few weeks ago sort of "in passing" but I didnt believe it at first.

More importantly (as most of y'all know, I don't follow basketball, at all)....what the frick is point-shaving?
TIA

it's purposefully making it so that the opponent covers the spread... If AU is a 10 point underdog to Alabama, and Ward does things on purpose (TOs, missed shots, poor defense, etc) to cause Alabama to win by more than 10, he's shaving points.

I agree about Charles Robinson being scary as shite, but this story appears different. He didn't investigate anything. He just got a scoop that an AU player came to the coaches with a concern. The coaches suspended the player immediately and notified the proper authorities. Not like he busted a program for cheating, just some stupid motherfricker looking to make a buck.

Whatever the spread was, he would do his best to make sure y'all lost by more than that. That's if it's true.

Two sources told Yahoo! Sports the coaching staff became aware of possible point-shaving when a player raised concerns with an assistant coach in late February. After the coaching staff was alerted, the school contacted both the FBI and the NCAA.

The sources said that shortly after, Tigers head coach Tony Barbee suspended Ward and Denson indefinitely for a violation of team rules. Both players then sat out the Feb. 25 loss to Arkansas, with Barbee stating there would be no timetable for the players’ return, nor any comment going forward. Denson was reinstated one game later when Auburn faced Alabama on Feb. 29, with Barbee telling reporters Denson “deserved an opportunity” to play again. Ward did not make the trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala., and has not been with the team since his suspension.

Auburn compliance... proactive as hell again.

BEST in the SEC.

Can't say I'm surprised. How you look incredible @Mississippi State scoring 24 points w/ like 9 assists then score 3 @home v. Bama w/ 6 turnovers is beyond me.

Word on the street is he faked the injury at Arkansas.

Little known fact, but Hentry hill of "Goodfellas" fame had a point shaving scheme going at Boston College in the 70's with associates Jimmy Burke and Tommy deSimone. Made it into the book "Wiseguy" but did not make it into the movie. It probably happens more than any of us like to think about.

So what does this do to Auburn if they followed the right procedure?

I hope it doesnt do much, if not anything, because we were about to turn the corner in bball.

Not a clue. I would hope not much. Probably come in and review policy and procedure that the school has to try and monitor this kind of stuff.
