It was only close in real time if your blind or a fricking homer. It was a full second late. But as stated many times both teams missed numerous chances to put the game away. But it was nice to see Kentucky come out and play ball. Good job Cats!

I for one, don't believe a Marc Curles crew would ever make questionable calls/no calls in Gainesville.
Would never ever happen.

What SEC office had to say on call.
What are they suppose to do admit they were wrong and that an officiating crew possibly changed the outcome of a game with a blown call?
It's not like your players/coach/school missed the call, it was a blown call by the refs. It's not a big deal, we still had a chance to win and didn't come through. Be happy your team won.
The Gator Apologetic Squad is out full force trying to justify it, preaching bullshite about how a not late hit earlier in the game(TPOS Play of Year material apparently) somehow equalized the blown call at the end. So you guys know it was a fricked up call.
You won

It won't be called the instant the clock hits 0. The official has to see the clock then see that the ball isn't snapped so there's a slight delay. If the ball is snapped a split second after 0 it won't be called.
If the official has balls and the ball isn't moving when the clock hits 0, they should by rule throw a flag, blow the play dead and assess the penalty.

If it was the wrong call, sure admit it, but it wasn't so UK fans should move on.

There was no blown call on the "phantom delay of game"
If things were flipped and UK had received a favorable call at the end of the game and and Gator fans were bitching about it...I guess everyone would think it wasn't a missed call.
the butthurt in this thread (and many others) is astounding.

It was clearly a penalty, sorry you don't see that. As many UK fans have stated, it wasn't the sole reason we lost the game, so no one is hung op on this one play.
It could have been the reason we won the game, had a penalty been called and Florida had to retry from the 12.

I had always assumed the ball had to be snapped before the clock was at zero. The way the SEC explained it, as long as the ball is moving when the clock is at zero then it is not a delay.
I can't imagine an official being able to see if the ball is moving from that distance until it goes between the legs. But at any rate, this makes a slight difference and you could legitimately snap it a fraction of a second after the clock hits zero and still not be a delay, because the threshold is the official moving his eyes from the play clock to the ball.

Towles actually looked alot better IMO.
Their stats were similar from the game. Two blown coverages aided Towles. I see some big time potential from him though. A couple of passes on the sideline were only were the WR could catch it. Those were impressive.
Three OCs and injuries have probably hindered his development. Being under center for that time frame was not beneficial for him at all.
His situational awareness is mystifying in that he has very little with regard to the blitz. I'm hoping that it's still a matter of getting used to the new offense.
His touch on the long ball is still missing and I have no idea if it's fixable at this point. He missed three wide open guys Saturday deep.

Completely agree. Just sayin' that possible blown call didn't cost us the game. It wouldn't have mattered if, we defended it.
Yards make a lot of difference in a tight game, especially when UK's players are pumped. 5yds is a big difference.

True. 12 yards is not easy to come by for a team like Florida that's against the ropes. Sucks that penalty wasn't called.

I could've sworn it was on fourth down. I could be wrong
You do realize that even if there was a penalty on 4th down that we would have gotten another play, right?

At the end of the day, all that matters is that the streak continued. 28 straight, unbelievable.
Time to move on, bring on the Tide.
Go Gators.

That was so close that the element of human reaction should favor NOT throwing the flag. Fouls should be clear, and this was very close.
Did Florida really gain an advantage? NO. Thus, in such a case, it should be a very clear call.
