RE: Dyer, I think they truly wanted Dyer early but when he demanded his buddy get a scholly too the interest faded quite a bit.
That is total bullshite. Mosely is a 4 star underarmor all american. Dyer is likely the best HS RB in the country.
AU has had their way with whoever we wanted in Arky this year and will likely get Jones too.
Arky's staff has been a total joke in recruiting.

There's not much Arkansas could have done with a kid like Dyer. He was butthurt that we didn't offer his buddy, Moseley. if anyone knows the slippery slope of offering teammates just to get the star of a team, it's Arkansas. Wasn't going to happen.

I think Arky should just start sending AU a detailed report of the best players in state each year. We will take the top 3-4 and let Arky have number 5 and Arky can just say thank you Auburn.

I will agree with yall. We did offer Mosley to get Dyer. Why not? We can waste a scholarship on a career backup online for 2 years, then put him on medical hardship when we need it from him. Tubs wasted tons of scholarships over the time, (he signed a 2star longsnapper on scholarship) so Gene is allowed one or two. Mosley remings me of Vance Smith.

AR natives are a little restless over recruiting right now. They like Petrino which they should but expecting a bigger haul with a second year coach. Some will talk about taking need over stars, , ok.
A lot of personal friends a little confused why they haven't got any big fish yet. They liked last year's RBs and DBs but they know it takes multiple years of good classes to build a program they think is possible. We'll see.
Yeah, stars are all that matters.

See:
Trindon Holliday 3*
Brandon Lafell 3*
Ciron Black 3*
That was just from one class.
Some of your best players were three star players. C'mon man.

You cannot...CANNOT debate whether Arkansas ever offered Moseley.
I will FREELY admit that we wanted Dyer, Brishen Matthews, and Bryan Jones ALL at one point or another. But Moseley NEVER received an offer. We took 2 other TE's this year (Uekman from AR and Hefley from MO) that the staff liked more than Moseley.

Moseley is not a TE. He will be a career backup OG.

Nope. Our staff doesn't think that Dyer is worth the price of taking Mosely.
And no, you likely won't get Jones.
Here is the rub for Auburn: if you continue to improve, Gus leaves after next year. And no, I don't think it is that easy to get an innovative OC. Look at LSU, for example. If you don't continue to improve, none of this matters now does it?
Bottom line is this: according to Rivals, you have almost always recruited quite a bit better than us, yet the head-to-head the last decade or so doesn't reflect any true advantage. In fact, I sure didn't see any reason to fear you last year when we played in Fayetteville.
why don't you beat us on the field a time or two before you anoint yourselves as our superior

and Dyer will have the opportunity to be a very special RB... seems worth the risk, IMO.
This thread is ridiculous... let's let it all shake out come NSD and beyond.

And let's not even get into the fatfrick walt williams. That dude is a NCAA violation just waiting to happen.
He smacks of the trash that went down in Memphis regarding Bama a few years ago.
He's bad news.

My mind cannot comprehend why Arkansas fans are maligning the Auburn program for offering Mosley to get Dyer when Moseley actually got an invite to the Under Armor game and also held offers from Tennessee and Florida State (per Rivals).
Is he really that bad of a player?

Have you seen the video? he's not that good, more likely will be a backup offensive lineman when the dust settles. Good luck to him.

I haven't actually seen the video, but I'll watch it in a minute.
Just saying that when I think of offers from two other big time programs and an invite to the Under Armor game it just doesn't scream "horrible player".

I have no problem with schools offering Moseley in an effort to get Dyer. It's better than hiring their fathers to get a son (Jeffcoat and OU, perhaps). If Auburn wants to do that, that's their decision. But I firmly believe that because Arkansas WOULDN'T compromise in that effect, it cost them Dyer. Hopefully the other TE's in this class will turn out significantly better than Moseley. In my opinion (which is just that), Moseley never did much to differentiate himself on the field. I've watched his videos and was never, even remotely, impressed. He's got great size, though. If he can just turn on the intensity he would have all the tools needed to be great.
You have to wonder how a high school with 2 D1 recruits lost in the quarterfinals of the playoffs playing in a state devoid of quality players.

"i cant wait to see mosley ride the bench at auburn his whole career... while dyer wears the overrated hat and plays second or third fiddle at runningback... i hope malzahn leaves auburn high and dry... if these in state guys want to go to another SEC school, why don't they go to one that can actually beat arkansas.... we've dominated auburn the last few seasons....byran jones will be making a huge mistake by going to auburn... he'd be better off at LA tech.... im really starting to hate the tigers more than any other SEC school... i hope we, and bama, continue to pound them "

We were merely responding to some of your brother Aubie posters.
Petrino does it his way, which as I understand it, is to rely more on himself and his staff than what Rivals writes.
He will get either the credit or the blame in the end.
