IT still does not link it to AU.

you are right, it does not link it to Auburn. In fact, I don't think Auburn paid him (despite what Cam Newton has said on tape) or will get caught if they paid him..

Nevermind, the NCAA and FBI are on the money trail. Still Auburn will never get penalized, and you will beat Bama and noone here will call you Bama's dirty little sister.

Almost.

So the ineligibility of a player does not follow the studen to another school?

Someone posted the actual NCAA rule in another thread.

quote:

NCAA Division 1 Manual
12.3.1 General Rule. An individual shall be ineligible for participation in an intercollegiate sport if he or she
ever has agreed (orally or in writing) to be represented by an agent for the purpose of marketing his or her athletics
ability or reputation in that sport. Further, an agency contract not specifically limited in writing to a sport or
particular sports shall be deemed applicable to all sports, and the individual shall be ineligible to participate in
any sport.

12.3.3 Athletics Scholarship Agent. Any individual, agency or organization that represents a prospective
student-athlete for compensation in placing the prospective student-athlete in a collegiate institution as a recipient
of institutional financial aid shall be considered an agent or organization marketing the individual’s athletics
ability or reputation.

Tweet from Gentry Estes:

RT @bulldogsblog NCAA told BHam News soliciting benefits is not allowed. So if NCAA believes Kenny Rogers, it has reason to suspend Newton.

It is entirely possible that Newton has been ineligible as of last November. Means eventually was able to play at Memphis but it took 2 years and I'm sure some sort of appeals process. In Newton's case, I just don't see how AU can continue to play him with this knowledge and it doesn't matter if AU payed Cecil. He's ineligible and has been all year.

Ineligible players can get reinstated.

I wouldn't count on that happening in this case.

Is that what happened with Albert Means?

Except if it's proven that he solicited money on behalf of his son, he's ineligible and any games he played in are vacated.

If Mr. Newton was soliciting money from schools during the recruitment process, the NCAA will have no choice but to come down very hard on the player to stop this practice. This sill obviously have repercussions on Auburn since he has played in their games this year.

My guess is that if this is proven the NCAA will set an example.

My next question is the SEC's culpability, Auburn's culpability etc. for not reporting to the NCAA.

how could a school be punished if one of its recruits solicited from another school? if they knew about the allegation of soliciation and the player denied it, what are they supposed to do? ask for a NCAA investigation or clearance before playing the kid?

i'm no fan of Auburn but this is a job on them if all CN did was have a father that solicited from MSU.

No joke. These fools around here live in fantasy land.

There is already enough inormation for the NCAA to declare Cam ineligible right now.

Are you seriously naive enough to believe that Auburn didn't pay CN?? Seriously??

Cam Newton is on tape having said that the money was too much and he had to select Auburn. The FBI is on the money trail, it won't be too long before they track where the money came from. Just remember, one of FBI's jobs is dismantling global and domestic money laundering schemes!

It would take alot more than $200,000 for me to let my son play at Moo State.

Like first round draft pick money to see my son play for such a shitty school.

New Aubarn theory:

Sure Cecil asked from money from MSU, but after State turned him down cold, Aubarn "persuaded" Cecil to come play for Aubarn for free.

Yes... He played at Memphis.

As I posted in another thread...

BIG difference. Albert Means was shopped by his high school coach and claimed he didn't know his services were being shopped. NCAA confirmed this. Newton was shopped by his dad. No way he can claim he didn't know his dad was taking $$.

I know, I have been ROFLMAO ever since the barners have come out and said they are not culpable anymore. They think if Kenny Rogers couldn't prove it, the FBI can no longer prove of AU's involvement.

What a joke!! FAMILY, ALL IN
