American Pie became a #1 hit and song of the year for 1972 when my family was in Blytheville Arkansas (an air base). Good memories!

Do you even know how homages work?

You have to follow the original material close enough that's it's still recognizable.

Now on its own it's not a bad rhyme, but it wasn't following the setup.

quote:

Much too well for a LSU sidewalker

What are you even trying to say here?

yes, and props for correctly spelling homage, not bad for a LSUr.

and i had no trouble matching the tune to the words. Maybe you are not melodically talented

Them good ole boys wearing crimson and white
Singin this'll be the day that I die

They started singin
Why? Why? Did they injure Ty?
Drove the field
And then we yield
And the field goal went wide

Them good ole boys wearing crimson and white
Singin we can't do without Ty

And who’s reputation lost the most
The Bama coaches could be toast
Grubb & DeBoer catch that last train for the coast

The day the Tide had….

Died.

So bye bye to the Crimson tide
Played Mendoza then he rolls ya
Like a blunt and you’re fried
The defensive line hit y’all hard til you cried
Hoosiers is your daddy, this can’t be denied
