I know a bunch of teams that wish they would beat those teams they beat.

I love the hire, don't need a six million dollar game manager but need a good motivator and a great recruiter which he is.
Let the co ordinators do their thing.

Geaux Tigers!

I am quite certain everyone on this forum knows who Southern Miss is. Not really clear as to why you have to put "Conference USA team"

Because there is only one Saban, and he's taken. We are all just waiting for Saban to leave so we can enjoy college football again. give yourself a congratulatory pat on the back.

Don't think you would want to do that.

This lack of imagination is exactly how we ended up with Orgeron.

Do you realize that there are coaches out there that have the same type of ability as Meyer, but just don't have the exposure or time in to have proven it yet? There are coaches out there that can beat Saban. Those are the coaches that will be considered great one day. And what we will one day lament is that we had the chance to pluck that guy for ourselves.

Our administration just doesn't have the confidence/imagination to go out there and take a chance to get that guy. To them it's just like you said, the only guys that will ever be able to challenge Saban are already taken. It's sad that LSU athletics is led by someone that has no vision.

That sentiment you expressed is EXACTLY what was telegraphed by our "coaching search." Looking at Jimbo, well he's already won a championship let's check him out. Herman, well he's a hot name and he helped to beat Saban in the NC game a couple of years back. After that Alleva was stumped.

Alleva is bereft of any ability to project what types of lesser known coaches have the ability to do those same things that the well known coaches already have done.

I realize this now, after Alleva refused to take my phone calls.

seriously, I do wish they went in another direction. But the decision made was based solely on economics and familiarity...a bit of a safe spot if you will, created by Orgeron for the big money guys.

If this was true, then why make the move to eat up Miles buyout now?

We said the thing once Coach O got hired. Any rational LSU fan would agree with the OP.

Here is the thing bama fans and other SEC slapdicks, I can make fun and hate our hire, because I am multiple generations deep in South La heritage, and played for LSU along with two cousins and both sisters also were athletes.

However, I will defend him like he is the second coming of Bear Bryant on this board, and tell you shitstains to shut the hell up

Okay if Ed Orgeron wasn't the right guy under the circumstances, then who was and why?

Dude, there are at least 50-75 coaches more qualified than O

We hired the coach with the worst winning pct in Ole Miss History

Would you make fun of Bama for hiring Curley?

That is what we did

O was a bad hire on paper, but you guys are crazy to think there's no way this could work.

I know this. O is just as good of a recruiter (probably better) than les. He's just as good of a motivator. O knows more about defense than Les does about offense.

O also seems to know not to hire your best buds and let his hires have autonomy.

Again, I didn't want LSU to hire O, but if Les can win 100+ games at LSU, O can too.

I for one hope Saban stays forever. I want to beat him with a better team and humiliate him like he humiliates us.

50 to 75? According to who? Who are they and what are their specific qualifications?

He may have had a bad record at Ole Miss, but he has acknowledge his poor record at Ole Miss and then in his last two coaching jobs, he didn't duplicate any of those same mistakes. That's how people learn; they learn from their mistakes. Ain't nothing wrong with that. Unlike Miles, Coach O has demonstrated that he is capable of learning from his mistakes. I'd rather have someone that has demonstrated and proven that he is capable of learning from his mistakes and moving on, than someone that hasn't demonstrated that ability.

Why would Bama fire Saban and hire Curley? That just doesn't make sense Dude. Apparently you aren't intelligent enough to hold a conversation with.

I don't know what you are smoking Dude, but if I were you I'd put it up. Damn...I thought I could at least hold an intelligent conversation over here, but I was wrong.
