I don't think LSU would get the 4th spot.
If you have a 1 loss- Oregon, Utah, or OU P5 conf champ ; they are not being left for a 1 loss non champ.
They aren't leaving out 1 much less 2.
It's never happened; and out side both champs picking up 2 losses; it won't.

Not unless, the plan is to be at 8 teams in 2021!

Georgia doesn't have to beat LSU ''badly'' as a poster claimed, but we badly need to beat them. If we win out and win The SECCG on 5 fluke plays we're still in.

Then you're saying they would crush LSU.

not necessarily, Idk why people are hellbent on this being the case

if LSU is undefeated after the A&M game they will be in the playoffs. the SECCG is irrelevant

If LSU beats Georgia
1. LSU
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Oregon

If Georgia beats LSU
1. Ohio state
2. Clemson
3. Georgia
4. LSU or Oregon (Hard to say for sure which. It would basically be PAC 12 champion vs SEC loser LSU with wins vs Florida, Auburn, Texas, Alabama. Which one will the committee value more?)

I disagree.

It will be Oregon or Utah. Simple enough.

Outside chance that Georgia gets in but they gotta win in Atlanta.

To say a 1 loss non-conference champion has never beat out a 1 loss champion isn't saying that much since we've only had this format a few short years. Oklahoma might not jump Bama since they are ranked far lower now, but Oregon likely would since they are 5th now.

Michigan might cause some problems for Ohio State

Looking at some of LSU's games final scores I think they are overconfident.

If Uga loses to Lsu it will be.
Oklahoma. If they beat Baylor again in the Big 12 championship game.
They'll put Jalen Hurts and Oklahoma in.

If we had beaten scar we’d have probably lost to auburn.

Been a fan of UGA way too long to think we wouldn’t choke one game.

It would be pretty bad arse to have another one of those.

I’m not gonna get ahead of myself, bc I totally think you guys are going to beat us, but it would be epic to play y’all twice in the post season

Assuming the current top 3 stay course, Oregon will be the 4th . and they'll get drummed by whomever they draw

Oregon losing to Auburn would be a killer in that scenario. LSU schedule was considerably tougher plus their only loss would be on a neutral site to another playoff team.

If they didn't lose to Auburn it might be more of an argument. But Oregon is getting in ahead of Alabama. that's for sure

What he said. 1 loss LSU is in as long as that loss isn't to Arkansas.

And I can see Oregon OR Oklahoma getting in over Bama. They'll both have top 10 wins by then.

If UGA finishes 12-1, LSU would get the 4th spot. If UGA loses to LSU, Oklahoma or Oregon get in if still only one loss. Only way Bama gets in is if UGA, Oregon and Oklahoma lose again. Of course, if LSU gets beat by A&M and UGA, they would be out. With that defense, it could happen.

Bama still has a very good shot of getting in.

Hell there are a lot of Bama fans who don’t want in at this point. The defense would get scalped and the offense isn’t lethal without Tua

Wins over Auburn, Florida,

But LSU fans claim Florida and Auburn aren't quality wins for Georgia, so the only quality win LSU has is over Bama with an injured QB. Loss of points for that one.
