and why should we care about two mid-major schools who've never won squat in football?
Just never understood how programs like Kansas, which have had the secret sauce for decades in basketball, can't accidentally get in right in football.

If you’re southern and a student of history. You should be very interested in this historic matchup just from that perspective. If you aren’t educated on it I would suggest some light reading and it’ll make you invested.

I'll watch Missouri whoop Kansas. Low-key, I used to love watching Chase Daniels. He's one of my favorite all-time players.

But overall KU is a basketball school. I've read a lot about that situation, but most reasons go back to recruiting. With Nebraska, OU, and the Texas schools pulling fish from the same pond, KU doesn't really have a chance at building a consistently good football roster.
I also don't think that big-money alums and doners at KU would be willing to pony up the NIL costs for a nationally competitive team when they get as much exposure as they can handle from basketball.
That may change, and may be inaccurate to some degree, but that's what I've heard after living in the KC area for over 20 years.

Maybe because they hate each other so bad they can’t even agree on the actual series record.
This has more to do with misery not being able to count
