Just curious, is the 6 credit thing localized to this particular high school, school district, florida, etc....?

I bet it's a Florida thing. I thought it was weird that we're talking about only six credits a year as well. I mean if I'm not mistaken you have to have like 28 or 30 credits to graduate high school. At least for Alabama that is. With only six credits a year a student would have to be in high school for five years.
I'm seriously confused.

Well I knew that. AL.com, AJC, and OKTC tells me that everyday.

I'd assume that the number is lower in FL if you can only take 6 a year or this school district, etc..
The 7 credits needed are more for NCAA clearing house, not graduation, I would again assume.
Personally I couldnt really care less about which school this kid decides to enroll into. I have a slight issue with the parents revolving their lives so much around their kid that they would pick up and move to make it easier for him

Why I do agree with you very much at the same time, I can also see where a parent is thinking "if this is the only way my son can get an education lets do it."
Why that does sound like naivety and deflection, if you'll noticed I haven't speculated on any of this story cause honestly I just find it interesting how it's gone down so far, and have no opinion on the matter. All I can say is, if he has eligibility problems then I don't want him near this town. If he's good then as long as he keeps his head on straight I wish him the best.

Personaly if I knew my kid wasnt going to have enough credits, prior to completetion of Junior year, his arse would be in summer school, this summer

I think it was talking about core credits not total credits...
I think core credits are like 16 total over 4 years... the rest are called electives..

Yeah I know but that still doesn't make sense that he needs eight this year as opposed to six. I mean if he needs 8 core credits then who the hell has been signing off for him these past three years.

FWIW, it's 7, Foley just allows up to 8

Coaches and people looking out for the coaches. The whole reason why the AD has no room to bitch

+1
A preventative maintenance plan would have benefitted all involved in this case.
I can't understand for the life of me why parents/kids wait til the last minute to take care of educational/grade issues.
When a kid is in a position to receive a free education, the parents & school counselors should be on top of the kid all the way through their Jr & Sr year.

It's not a florida thing, most likely up to each county's school board. Bay county for example is on block schedule.

First Day in Foley
Also it is clear that Foley is a great academic school..
11 Baldwin County schools did not meet state academic standards......Eleven of Baldwin County's 44 schools did not meet academic standards under the federal No Child Left Behind Act, according to data just released by the school district.
FOley on the wrong list

NCAA should look into this just to be on safe side

It is my understanding that Escambia County couldn't afford summer school this past year.
