There is nothing to gain by playing for a shite team with no QB and everything to lose by blowing your knee out.

Why even play at all then after you have a few good games?

Obviously he needed to play to improve his draft status. He’s considered a top WR prospect by virtually everyone so mission accomplished.

So why didn’t he do that before the season or after a few games rather than deciding it the moment he found out we were playing Alabama? Is chicken shite asf no debate. I understand opting out but this shite is not the same.

So showing that you’re a great player on a bad team against the best two SEC teams would hurt his draft stock? The dude was scared to compete it’s obvious. He patted his stats against inferior opponents then pussed out when the tide was coming to town. The NFL scouts are going to notice this. He quit. It’s a fact. Look at Devonta Smith at Bama. Dude came back and is breaking records. Improved his stock big time. This seems like it’s not only a pandemic/covid thing it’s a culture thing and Orgeron is losing the team and the culture that he somewhat built.

I can’t say for certain but he’s put a lot of great film on this year and probably won’t put on a lot more, possibly to no fault of his own. Neither LSU QB option inspires confidence. Didn’t he miss the majority of a season with injuries before? This one is a no brainer.

He put up great film against shite opponents. Where was he against Auburn? He won’t even play against Alabama and Florida. Literally the only big time chances to showcase his skills and he pussed out.

it's absolutely a culture thing and has been a problem since around 2010. Orgeron didn't build it but he's certainly perpetuated it. From recruiting and thereafter "You give us three years, and we'll get you to the NFL." It may be a good sell to get some elite players on campus but it's not the sell to get them to buy into the process of building and sustaining a perennial title contender. Les had them buy into this same "get out as soon as you can" culture too. He was the designer at LSU.

He should leave. It's probably a good thing for the team as well. Get some young guys time to improve for next season, or let those guys who will hang it up foe good after LSU season hit the field.

Spot on!! It’s probably always going to be that way at LSU. It’s part of not only LSU culture but Louisiana culture in general. It’s a “take care of yourself” and “get out, stay out” mentality. The team building that guys like Dabo & Saban are selling doesn’t work in BR. It’s a get hot, lightening in a bottle thing. Look at 2011, they rattled off 13 wins almost out of no where. Just like 2019.
