I think you’ve had too much of the old no. 7. I’ve seen nothing insinuating Nick was “still running things.”

You're right. He was just going to take over NIL and portal. Alabama gave him an office, too, so the players could be inspired by it.

How's that working out for you?

That was the major talking point amongst the gumps over the weekend supporting the Kalen DeHarsin hire.

Saban and all coaches are the main conduit for NIL deals...someone has to tell the money guys what a player is looking for. Not that they are facilitating it but they are in contact with players and donors unlike anyone else in a program...especially donors who can facilitate a 7 figure NIL deal. I suspect he agreed to try to stabilize the ship until the new guy can get his feet under him. I do not know that but it makes sense that he was completely plugged in just a few days ago and has made some commitment to some players and is doing what he can to honor that for some period of time.

Learfield has a 'Center" right at Bryant-Deny Stadium.

Somebody at Alabama cut a 15 year deal with Learfield that might sound good, but actually creates a real handicap for retaining players.

Somebody at Alabama pocketed a lot of kickback money without any regard for the future success of the program. This was real irritating to Saban because he didn't like the process involved in trying to balance the distribution of funds.
