When I read this I thought of this picture of Nutt.

that Nick Saban is still the reason we are winning because he still have a few of his players here or there,
Worried at all?

The better question to ask LSU fans...
if LSU does not win a NC in next 5 years yet wins 9-12 games is it considered a disappointment?

I didn't wanna hurt anyone's head with a scenario like that.

Then why create a thread about it?

That may depend on whether or not they still get hardware. i.e SEC title or BCS win.

Nick had 2 SEC championships in 5 years. How badly does it reflect on Les if he can't match that,
Here's 3 things that Nick failed to do while at LSU that Les accomplished:
1) Won all 4 of his bowl games in his first four seasons. (40 - 3 vs. Miami, 41 - 14 vs. Notre Dame, 38 - 24 vs, Ohio State and 38 - 3 vs. Georgia Tech. That represents a collective margin of 157 - 44, impressive by anyone's standards.)
2) Reach the SEC championship game in his first season. (You can trot out the "with Nick's players" crap - but Nick didn't have to deal with anything like Katrina, Rita and their respective aftermaths.)
3) Until 2005, LSU had never beaten Bama, Auburn and Florida in the same season, even in Nick's 5 seasons here. The Tigers have already done it twice under Miles.
How does THAT reflect on Miles?

I completely agree withth is regarding any cfb. The only control each sec team has is where they finish in the sec. Anything outside of an sec champ requires a good bit of luck. the system now is too flawed with preseason rankings or any first time ranking. If you have 3 undefeated teams in different conferences the one who strated lowest in the polls will get left out whether they are the best team or not.

Say Les has next 5 years comparable with what Mark Richt has done at Georgia past 5 years.
50 Wins
15 Lost
4-1 IN Bowl Games
1-1 In BCS Games
1 SEC Championship
2 SEC West Championships

"Down" as in 2005, when they were 9 - 0 and ranked #4 before losing to Les and LSU in OT?
BZZZZ..WRONG, try again, dumbass.

we hit the skids at the end of the year, and you saw what happened the next couple of years and what we had the year before that. Yeah.. Bama was down for the majority of Les' success.
2005 10-2... a very good season, some argue a fluke season.
2006 6-7... down
2007 7-6... down
2008 12-2... a very good season..evidence it will continue with the talent brought in. oops.. what happened to Lsu?

Well, our "down" 8 - 5 season still beats your 2 worst years of that era. It also ended with a bowl win, something that your best season in that era failed to produce.

Damn, sure wish that LSU was bringing in talent like that..oh, wait...

Our one down is better than your two downs.

You still get hardware in that 5yr period, and it would sound like a good deal at that. Keep in mind , LSU is having its best period of football ever and to assume we see another SEC title and more BCS games can make it better.

Yep.. and then folded with it. Like I said.. Lsu's success came with Bama at it's worst in 50 years. Maybe they won't fold as bad this year while Bama continues it's meteoric rise from the ashes, back to the pinnacle that is Bama and their rightful place into the elite of college football.
