Not trying to take anything away from any of these kids I have been watching landry since he played pee wee football. You could tell even then that the kid was special and watching him left you with no doubt in your mind that he would play NFL even then.

I'm not slighting Trovon because i wanted him at LSU. But an Auburn fan shitting on Odell Beckam will look pretty silly in the next few years.

I'm not shitting on him. I have no idea how good he is going to be. However, it isn't as silly as the LSU fans on here shitting on Trovon Reed.

ha ok dude, you were just mocking his offer list, which wasn't even a complete list. and i stated i think trovon is a good player, he does have legit durability concerns though.

Let's see him stay on the field without getting injured first.

That would be a fair point if you weren't pimping a kid as better than Reed without him ever touching the field either.

I'm not too worried about Landry staying on the field. He is itching at the bit to "hit" someone per his recent interview.

Sorry, I left off Ole Miss and Nebraska according to Rivals.

The only reason I was pointing that out is because Trovon Reed was the top player in Louisiana and rated a 5 star yet he is going to be shitty yet this OBJ is going to be great even though he is only a 4 star with a rather weak offer list and is even smaller than Reed.

I guess he has durability concerns. He was injured last year, but could have played if the coaches wanted him to. He was held out for precautionary reasons, and well, we just didn't need him last year.(obviously)

He has been healthy all this year and looked great in the spring game. You can also tell the coaches are going to make it a priority to get the ball in his hands.

No, that was Mathieu

5 star

For what? He had an average senior year and was subpar in the AAA game.

yet he is going to be shitty

I didn't say he was going to be shitty, I said he is brittle. He loads of talent, but he needs to stay on the field for more than a play or two before limping to the bench.

Didn't he get injured AGAIN in your spring game?

You'll want to take that up with the recruiting services.

By the way, how is a 3 star LINK rated higher in Louisiana than a 5 star? LINK

I already explained that in this thread. They had no one covering LA the last 3 years for more than a game or two that was on national TV. They went to a few camps and rated them based on their AA game performance. It took them a full year to realize that Freak was THE DT of the 2011 class.

Now they have people coming down and viewing the talent that New Orleans and Baton Rouge have to offer. Newberg was down here for ESPN, Chad Simmons for Scout, and Rivals and 24/7 are still sitting on their asses and basing rankings on the little they have seen LA recruits at camps and combines.

Take that up with your 24/7 site

Oh ok that explains it. You mean the thing we use to rate recruits just wasn't doing there job and we are just supposed to take your word for it. Gotcha

Here it is plain as day...LINK

Right under state it has a 1. What does that mean exactly?

And what DT are you talking about? Both scout and rivals have Mathieu listed as a DB.

Again, they barely covered LA. Mathieu was an unknown till his performance at the UT WR's camp where he shut down Ambles, Landry, and Hunter.

He then continued to impress at the LSU camp and we offered on the spot. He committed shortly after.

Rivals then bumps him to a 4 star.

Scout kept him the same.

I think they would all currently agree he was hands down the best LA had to offer in 2010. He has the stats from last year to prove it.

Yea, whatever, Reed was still rated the #1 prospect in Louisiana that year which isn't what you said previously.

Reed is NOT the number 1 player from LA that year. Mathieu was hands down better. I never pulled up a single rankings site to back up my arguement, I used his stats from last year.

Forced fumbles, TFL, sacks, Int's, and ST's plays. Let's see you argue against this highlight video.

Reed had a very good AAA game, he just played corner mostly because they needed someone to play corner. Just shows you how versatile the kid is.

You're kidding right? You want to prove your point by showing me a highlight video? I'm sure I could go to yahoo and pull a dozen Trovon Reed videos as well.

You can argue till your blue in the face that Reed wasn't the #1 prospect in LA that year, but you are going to be wrong every time.
