That’s demonstrably false.
Kelly has won 2 as HC. He also has a .741 win pct at LSU.
How ‘bout Napier? No nattys as HC and .440 at Flarta. OUCH!
oh my god we're not talking about G5 conference championships here

but if you really wanted to, you should know that Napier won 2 conference championships, too. Thus, equals in all regards.

Why state CFP games played? Thats no great accomplishment.
Should only highlight CFP games won.
Should only highlight CFP games won.

Crazy thing is half of the Ohio State fanbase wants Day fired.
It's the times we're living in. A lot of money being paid and he can't beat Michigan.
Here's the thing with Kelly, Dabo and Day.
Day has had the best team the last few years of the three.
Dabo has two titles, but recently they haven't been as good, but it's not like there is some massive chasm between Clemson and LSU since Kelly took over.
I understand some here saying it's "who would you want right now?", but if I was using that as my reasoning I'd rank Lanning no. 2. Think best does mean you have to look at overall resume combined with success the past three years or so.

None of those takes were terrible before last season.
Saban at anything except 1 was laughable... even after Kirby 21 and 22.

Day wouldn't be the first coach hated for not winning the big one(s) despite winning the rest.

Yeah, ranking him behind the coach that had just won two national titles was "laughable."

He's gotten to the playoff three times. He and Riley are similar, but Riley has fallen. Will be interesting to see what happens if Day wins the B1G but fails to get past the quarterfinals.
If he doesn't win the B1G, he's probably gone. But they'd have little guarantee they could hire someone better.

I agree. Well said.
His recruiting hadn't slipped, neither had the game production. Yes, ga won the natty in 21, but a month before Alabama had stole their girlfriends and kicked the dog in their own backyard.

That's obvious, and an opinion. I have mine, you have yours. I'm still laughing at the idiot picking Nick at anything besides 1.

I think dabo is a wait and see he has got some players in some coaches now let's see what he can do

It's a dumb criticism.
Ohio State was a missed field goal from playing for, and likely winning a natty in 2022.
Just because the kicker missed the field goal doesn't make him a better or worse coach.

Not laughable if you are considering age and the possibility of not having him the next year...which proved to be right.

Making the CFP is a major accomplishment in the four team era. It’s roughly equivalent to a final four in basketball.
If you want to just view NCG appearances as a CFP win, same thing different label.

Along with every coach in the top 10 not named Kirby and Dabo...so what point are you trying to make in this thread? Should we expand it to Top 50 coaches so you may be able to see Sun Belt Billy on the list?

Hilarious to me how the Bama fans have screamed for years that LSU's multiple Final Four trips are meaningless. Now that DeBoer is at Bama, a trip to the CFP is equivalent to the a prestigious Final Four.
