I fully support allowing Dae’quan Wright to wear #5 this fall.

Do you support him wearing # 9? If so, then that's at least fair. If not, then maybe Daniels has got a point.

I agree, why not. How many LSU fans have you heard from who would be happy with any QB wearing # 9? And when was the last time you saw any player wearing Billy Cannon's number? You know, the # 20 that's in the ring of honor in Death Valley.

Cannon’s number is genuinely retired. No other number is.

What was your point again?

I wouldn't care. Matt Mauk led us to our first National Championship since 1958 and his number is passed out every year as an honor to players. The players think it's pretty cool.

Cannon's number is actually retired.

If they want to issue him #9 i would have no problem with it. Tim Tebow set the bar on how a former player should act about their college number.

Tim Tebow is a first class act.

Then, for the sake of reasonableness, let's see Kiffin reissue #9. Wouldn't that settle that?

LSU could come out anytime they want and simply tell the world that Burrow's number isn't retired. They don't even have to reissue it this season. Correct? That settles that, but they haven't. Odd.
