Since Aug 1 LSU has lost 12 scholarship players

The 12th one not mentioned yet is Jordan Allen, Junior DE (not a starter)- injured - returning in 2013

Washington (OL) - depth guy (academics, 2013)
Edwards (TE) - scrub (academics, 2013)
T.Jones (LB) - starter (academics,2013)
Welter (LB) - scrub (academics, 2013)
Mathieu (DB, KR) - starter (dismissed for 2012. May return in 2013)
Dural (WR) - redshirt (injury, back next year)
Faulk (OL)- starter(injury, back next year)
Johnson (WR) - never made it to campus (2013)
Fehoka (OL) - never made it to campus (2013)
Liggins (QB) - never made it to campus (?)
Blue (RB) - starter injured but back this season - bruised patella, sprain

The four "STARTERS" lost for 2012:

Mathieu (DB starter) is being replaced by:
Ronald Martin, Jalen Collins, Jalen Mills, Micah Eugene, Derrick Raymond, Dwayne Thomas, and Corey Thompson (DBs),
and Odell Beckham Jr and Michael Ford (punt and kick returns), along with Jarvis Landry

Faulk (OL starter) is being replaced by:
Josh Dworaczak (medical redshirt and former starter), La'el Collins and Vadal Alexander

Tahj Jones (LB starter) is being replaced by Luke Muncie, Kwon Alexander, Deion Jones, Lamar Louis, Ronnie Feist, and Lorenzo Phillips.

Blue (TB starter) is being replaced by:
Ware, Ford, Hilliard, Hill, and Magee (if nec., he had been moved to WR)
But Blue will return later this season.....

Only one player dismissed that I can think of. I think the twelve included the guys who transferred or left early for the draft. Still,it is an extremely high number as you said. Not counting those guys who left early, they've lost four more starters at least and a number of the others were on the original two-deep. So far, the young linebackers, d-backs and o-linemen are stepping up.

Were you guys at the 85 mark when practice started?

IDK about when practice started, but remember that Robert Bolden was a late addition.

Pretty sure he took the 83rd scholarship that was no longer going to be used when Liggins DNQ'd.

Only 4 of the 12 were projected starters, and as you can see 5 posts above, they are being adequately replaced by multiple possibilities...

Most, if not all of these 12 will be back in 2013, although Liggins and Mathieu might be the most questionable...

Liggins will not re-sign with LSU. Tyler Edwards is a senior and is done with football. The rest will have the opportunity to return.

We could be down 22 starters and still wouldn't go to OT with ULM.

with A Blue being the 12th for either the year or at least Saturdays game. That is a crazy number of ppl either dismissed, injured, what have you.

No. The information has been out there long enough I don't feel it necessary to hunt down a link for you people.

And a good chunk of those guys are disposable (i.e. we likely eont miss a beat without em).

Not saying all of em werent good players, just saying we could still make do without em.

Very, very true. I think our 2nd and 3rd team guys could beat ULM by 10-20
