How many occurrences of each of those have happened? Common? No. But those things happen and get attention because of past stupid shite done by Bama fans. To act like the conference fanbases are really that far apart is such bullshite that gets perpetuated on here ad nasusem because it's easier to take shots at a dumb fanbase that gets caught being dumb than a football team that has dominated for a while.

Happened to an LSU student on University Avenue .... Think that's what road it was.... Guys jumped out of a truck and knocked this kid out cold.
Cops and Bama fans could give a shite less
Still pisses me off

Tuscaloosa probably isn't anymore violent than Ole Miss. Stop with the holier than thou bullshite that comes way to easy on this website. Kid was running his mouth a probable drunk redneck took offense. Sucks for the kid. This shite isn't that uncommon.
Alabama is without question the most violent fanbase (at least in college football, since I don't think they compare to the Eagles or 49ers fans). The average college educated fan I doubt is all that more violent than the average opposing teams' fan, but you hear about more ridiculous shite coming from Alabama after a loss than any other fanbase. I'm just saying that within this thread, the proof is in the pudding. Seems the sane Tide fans are few and far between and thought that the violence was at least somewhat justified.

Yeah, this has NEVER happened at LSU, I'm sure.
I remember when my friend who lived in New Orleans got 'LSU' keyed into her car for having a Bama sticker on it a few years ago.
People are dumb, shite happens.

Ok then I'm sure you have some sort of statistics that back up the claim that Alabama has a more violent fanbase than nearly every other conference one. Obviously Vandy is different. A couple public incidences skews the public perception. If you can sit there and really tell me you believe that the people who cheer for Alabama are more violent than the people who cheer for say LSU, simply because they cheer for Alabama than I don't know what to tell you.

If you can't keep from violence because someone is celebrating a victory with long standing traditional cheers... You have a problem.
Your outlook is so sick, IMO.
Just walk to the car quietly and do t look up, right ?

Some of it has to do with this site, and the fact that people love to come and post anything extreme that an Alabama fan does for anyone to lol at. Like I side, I know someone put in the hospital by two opposing fans on a Friday before a game, but I didn't feel the need to come to the rant and make a thread about it (not that anyone will believe that I actually do know someone put in to the hospital by an opposing teams fans)

How many occurrences need to happen before you admit that your fanbase's retard ratio is a lil higher and more severe than any other's in the conference?

nope, smile and enjoy it with my friends and happily discuss the game while having a few beers and enjoy the victory sounds perfect for a post game celebration in my book. I just enjoy keeping it positive and celebrating with the people I know rather than engaging the opposing teams fans with trash talk.
also if you actually read my post I said I don't support fighting in almost any capacity. I j

Well, they've still got the record setter, where a father put a loaded gun to his son's head after a loss and pulled the trigger. And no I didn't make that up: LINK
What other stat do I really need when I've got that one on my side?

They take losses much more poorly than any other fanbase. I think an LSU fan's natural instinct after a loss is to get as drunk as humanly possible. Bama: destroy or kill something. Find me an attempted murder of an immediate family member in response to LSU losing a game, and you may have a point.

I don't know about you, but a couple of highly publicized stupid things that people in my fanbase have done do not speak for the overwhelming majority of us. They don't represent the fanbase. Those are instances of stupid people acting stupidly. Their fan hood is not the reason for there stupidity.

I thought the happening I witnessed was a little over the top, and the reaction of Bama fans and Tuscaloosa police was pathetic.
I never said it didn't happen at LSU. Though, through hundreds of games attended at Tiger stadium in the most working class tailgating areas, I've never seen that.
Or an Updyke... Or a tea bagger...
I know there are outliers in each fanbase, but let's be honest, your outliers are fricking sick

You just linked one story to make the point that the Alabama fanbase is more violent than any other one. That's what you just did. I'm not searching for shite because I don't feel the need to prove to you that fan hood doesn't make someone inherently good or bad.

I've just never seen a fight in the Grove, and can't recall too many on the night before either. I just don't think you understand when you're around people that fight on a consistent basis and it happens "all the time", then it speaks very poorly for you and your fanbase as a whole. Never seen State or Ole Miss fans get in a fight before.

You lost me here. So it's just coincidence that they're Alabama fans?

None of this means anything to my poor friend that had to pay to have her vehicle completely repainted because of a rabid LSU fan.

Find one about an Ole Miss fan that goes on some sort of a violent rampage after a loss. I can find several violent encounters that Gumps have been through. I'll hang up and listen.

A frat boy had to be taken in handcuffs after the 2005 game because he threatened to kill me and my friend twice, and came at us the third time. We were doing nothing but standing there trying to call the Bama people we were with who left us after the game.
We went to the Arby's to wait for a ride and got asked to leave 10 minutes in because everyone in there was shouting at us and getting rowdy. They weren't asked to leave, we were. We were sitting there, not even talking to each other.
In 2009 I got threatened with an arse beating and had the guy behind me grab me by my neck and shove me forward because I was shocked (and commented, "Are people really cheering for an injury?" Obviously a mistake) that the people around me were cheering when Peterson got hurt. After security came and heard the story, they told me to keep my mouth shut or I would be escorted out. I left on my own.
I am not a confrontational person, and especially when I am on the road. Not one thing has happened at the other 5-6 SEC campuses I've gone to. I've had Bama fans be aggressive toward me after a game where LSU lost. You people are fricking crazy.
I still have a blast tailgating before the game over there, though, and I'll be there this year. 90% of the shite I get is normal for a college campus.
