9-1 over the next 10 brings him back regardless. 8-2 over next 10 doesn't, it depends on who we lose to and how bad the losses are. A loss to Florida and one other team and Richt is done...that game is a MUST win for Richt.

well some idiots here think if we go 6-6 we will accept it because UGA accepts mediocrity. we are certainly one of the more patient schools but i mean Richt is one of our best and most adored figures in recent history so i mean we aren't going to go full retard like said fan bases will right anyway. but we are doing so now, the dawgtards are assembling as we speak to make a march on butts-mehre.

What if you still win the East? I though there was no way Fulmer could survive the 100-37 combined score of the beatdowns handed out by UT's two biggest rivals in 2007.

he cannot lose to UF or GT. losing to GT would send him strait home to call a moving truck
i think dropping a game to MSU at home would be pretty damning because losing to MSU, while they are better, looks fricking awful. UGA doesn't lost to moo state at home or go 0-2. i think that one may be the nail in the coffin or if he fricks up at OM.

we have beaten UF 3x in my 21 years of life. it is a little different

To be fair, we've only beaten Florida 5 times in my 20 years.

oh, god damn i hate UF. i guess i was too wrapped up in our ineptitude.
but he has to beat UF. i think the thing is if we lose to UF we will basically eliminate ourselves from East contention anyway

if we lose to florida I don't see how we can reward him with another year
Posted on 9/14/11 at 12:54 pm to WG_Dawg
agreed 100%
i honestly see no reason to keep him now. lanier is right, no matter what he does (and it won be winning the SECE) we will be in the same place next year as we are now

3 out of 21 is unacceptable for UGA vs UF. When I was a kid it was reversed. UGA should be almost 50/50 vs UF or at worst 60/40 vs UF.

read it yesterday and agree for the most part. Only way I see him keeping his job is if we luck out and win the East.
I feel the same way.

I think Richt easily goes 9-1, maybe even 10-0. Then I think Richt will approach McGarity for a buyout. I don't think he wants to put up w/ another offseason year of being on the hotseat. There are other things he'd rather do than coach.
Posted on 9/14/11 at 1:12 pm to winyahpercy
What's interesting to me is just how much power and trust Mcgarity gets. I mean it is literally all up to him. The UGA President and boosters have full trust in him.

you're right. it was a string of mediocrity begun by goff and has passed from donnan to richt. we cannot lose to a program because the ole ball coach had our number, he hasn't been at UF since 2001 so there is absolutely no excuse
the university needs a gut check like no other. right now we are the heavy weight that is acting like a fricking pussy because it is easy

i don't see him easily doing anything but finishing 6-4. i do think he will resign though but after McGarity tells him it's time. he loves coaching here and he loves UGA and when he is done here he will be done coaching so i think he is holding on as long as he can.
that being said i do also think that, like you said, if it continues to get ugly that richt will no longer see the point. he is a good guy and people are going after him very hard so i could see him seeing that his time has come and that he has better things to deal with than our pissed fan base

adam
he came in and has impressed and i think that his tutelage under foley has given him a lot of leeway. i have full faith in him but this next coaching search will define his tenure IMHO

I think Richt easily goes 9-1, maybe even 10-0.

Yeah I certainly wouldn't put any money down on us going 9-1 or better from here.
However, with the way the schedule sets up it is doable. We just have to play like we did against SC instead of Boise. We have the talent and the playmakers, last week showed we had the intensity and the desire. Hell we even had some pretty darn good playcalling mixed in for a change. We just gifted them 4 touchdowns which did us in. When you can spot the 10ish ranked team in the country 4 (FOUR) touchdowns and still only lose by 3 and take the game to the last possession, you've done alright. No this isn't a moral victory, I'm just saying that there's no reason to think it's impossible for us to win out.
But, I doubt we will. In fact I'm positive we won't. But we could.

I would rather see Shultz fired than CMR, don't even give Jeff the common courtesy of reading his blog/column anymore. White man's Terrance Moore IYAM!

I didn't watch any of UGA Boise? How much of it was Georgia sucking and how much was it Boise playing well?
I'm glad South Carolina won just so it made Boise's win look a little less impressive.

80% UGA sucking. vs Boise's D.
Boise's O played well though.
