Copied from a different thread.

Miami lost at home to Louisville and lost to SMU. ND lost to Miami by 3 and to us by 1 and hasn’t lost since week 2 (three if you want to be a stickler and mention the bye). This is one of the rare times when I think a team should be ranked higher than the team they lost to just because it seems that ND is a much better team at this point.

Now, should ND get into the playoffs over Miami if they both finish 10-2? Absolutely not. H2H has to count for something.

Until this week, ND had one ranked win. Pitt jumped to 22 and USC dropped to 19, so now they can say they beat two ranked teams.
Bragging about losses is for losers.

If H2H isn't the first tie-breaker then there really isn't any reason to play the games.

If the choice were simply between Notre Dame and Miami, then it’s an easy choice, as you go with the head to head winner. The problem for Miami is that there is little chance the final spot comes down to a simple choice between those two schools. When you throw all the 10-2 teams into a basket and try to pick 2 for the final at large spots, Miami simply isn’t going to look like one of the two best from that group, whereas Notre Dame might. I’d say it’s much more likely that both get left out than that Miami gets in while Notre Dame gets left out.

Interesting debate as to who should be ranked higher but no doubt in my mind whos's the better team now. If it comes down to either I would want ND because they have a higher ceiling IMO and I dont want to see 1st round shite games like last year. I want to see the best 12 teams now on a neutral field but thats just me and not necessarily fair
