As an LSU fan, Hoover does an outstanding job with the field and the facilities they have to offer. I don't see any issue at all with it being played there.

Wife and I spent an hour on 4 phones dialing and redialing for RV reservations. All that work, and we are only on the waiting list.

Yes. Give others a chance to attend close to home.

Not NOLA. Why do people keep saying NOLA for the baseball tournament? Alex Box is the same size if not bigger. But I think all tournaments should rotate. Baseball use Alex Box, Baum Stadium, Dudy Noble Field, and Hoover. Football use Sugar bowl, Cotton Bowl, Peach Bowl and Gator Bowl. Basketball use NOLA, Memphis, Atlanta and Houston or a Fla. site. Rotate these and every 8-12 years open up the rotation so these stadiums stay up to par and keep their facilities up to date and people entertained while staying in the general area.

You do understand that like water, 75% or more of Texas clsssifies at the low end if rural. Just keeping perspective and reality as close as humanly possibile.

So, wait list at Hoover? Nice

I have never been but do know that it takes a community to get behind it to be successful. For that to happen it needs to be in the same spot for many years.
Hoover has done their job. Leave it there.
I am originally from New Orleans and putting it at the Zepher Stadium on Airline Hwy. Should not even be considered.

Hoover is a shithole. Yes they should lose it. Either Nashville or Memphis should get it. Metarie is too far from everywhere else, and Atlanta is too far from the actual good baseball schools in the conference.

Why would we ever move it to Orlando or Houston? All that serves is Florida & A&M. Yeah, lets move it to St. Louis while we're at it to serve Mizzou? Those two cities shouldn't even be remotely considered.

Why should the central schools be the only ones to benefit? Why should the eastern schools benefit from the SEC Champ game being in Atlanta?
They should move both around since this is a conference. Give everyone a chance to see this stuff. I have work for a living, so I'm not going to shithole Hoover in the middle of the week. I would however, go to games if it was closer.

Atlanta or Orlando make a lot of sense. For families that do travel, Mickey Mouse is a huge draw. Crime is less a factor than Atlanta imo. If someone wants to point out a western site with outdoor venue not on campus...please do. It should be fair for those teams. Weather is a factor with the tourney held in late May...Florida "usually" isnt in the rainy season yet.
Orlando makes horrible sense. Aside from Florida, it's 7 fricking hours away for the closest team. Almost every fan of every team would have to fly there. frick off with that biased as frick suggestion. Downvote.

What exactly do you want that Birmingham doesn't offer? There are nice hotels within 3 miles of the park. There is any number of outdoor recreation activities. If you will quit being so cheap you can rent a car, or take a cab and find great nightlife and awesome restaurants within a 20 minute drive of the stadium. The stadium seats more than most minor league parks. Oh and there is a freaking awesome new minor league stadium in downtown Birmingham. You could take in that atmosphere if the team is in town.
Sorry you can't park your car and walk around drunk for the week with everything within 20 feet for your convience, but saying there isn't much in Hoover/ Birmingham is just ignorant.
Birmingham is not a destination city. A part of your argument is "20 minute drive". Memphis won't have anything outside of a 20 minute walk, nevertheless drive where you can get anywhere in the city. Memphis has the second biggest bar and restaurant street in the South next to NOLA. If you fail to see why that's more desirable, then you're biased as hell.

A. Anybody who wants it in Memphis hasn't thought it through. I've been in that part if town many times. The FIRST night in Memphis someone would be robbed or stabbed. I worked down the street on a start-up and I promptly moved to olive branch for my month stay. Awful city for anything. Ditto for new orleans. Only an idiot walks around New Orleans at night. Hoover eliminates an issue with safety.
I've got several friends who live around the stadium who get drunk as shite regularly there. I've gotten shitfaced on Beale more times than I can count. It is not in a dangerous part of town. If you get stabbed near there, it is either a huge fluke or you're a drunk idiot asking for it.

C. Lots of folks on here and listening to what they consider a "fun" town are on the verge of rehab. When you're planning your trips around where the bars are u have bigger problems than where a game is played.
Well aren't you the judgemental a-hole?

Do you have a car? If so you're not looking very hard for things to do. Perhaps you can tell me what type things you would like to do and I will be more than happy to provide a list of available options in the Bimrmingham metro area.
Well how about this conversation:
"OK who's going to be the DD?"
"Well I paid 60 bucks for these tickets, so I sure as hell am not going to be the sober driver"
"Mean either"
"frick That"
The other cities on the list don't have this little predicament. Hoover has nothing to do. No one wants to stay there unless they have an RV.

Why do you have to walk? There is a Sports Tap bar just down the road, a Twin Peaks up at Patton creek and various other sports bar options within a 2-3 minute drive from where you are.
I'm really, really hoping this is sarcasm. If you have to bring up Twin Peaks, you've officially lost the argument.

Although maybe too small of a stadium, I think Biloxi's new MGM Park, home of the AA Shuckers, would be nice. Maybe they could bring in some temporary bleachers but I don't know how they could pull that off because there is no room around the stadium. After games or off days, you have all the casinos, hotels, clubs, and beaches all within 10 minutes of the stadium. That being said that would probably be a cluster. If they could do it, I think Biloxi would be a good location.
