Danny Sheridan made claims on Finebaum about the NCAA closing in on Auburn and the bagman that paid Cam. Then, ATPB, Jr.

Maybe one of the Bama fans can help out on this one, but didn't Sheridan claim that Bama would be cleared in the Means case?

Sports odds maker Danny Sheridan claimed on Finebaum yesterday afternoon that he (Sheridan) has a source at the NCAA who confirmed the investigation into Cam/AU is ongoing. He also claimed that they (NCAA) believes they've found the alleged "bagman" and are hoping that he will come forward. He later seemed to back track a bit and claimed they "think" they've found the alleged bagman. The thread has been a pointless back and forth about the credibility of his source with a healthy dose of doom predicted by Bama fans and prediction of skating by AU fans.
That's more than 3, but it's the best I could do.

I didnt treat it as an admission. An admission would mean an open and shut case. I treated it as yet another piece of evidence that has to be looked at. Why would he just not continue to deny taking money? Its a valid question.

What facts have i ignored? Please tell me. That Cecil has denied taking money in the past? Of course he does. if he didnt, the case would be over. He had no reason to tell the truth if he were guilty. What makes his lst interview compelling is that, after months of strong denials, he comes off that position with such a weak sttement. Could it be nothing? Possibly, but it still looks pretty damn bad and must be taken in consideration with other known facts.

They appear to be three seperate issues altogether to me - - - -

Common sense. In any type of investigation, you don't release things, even confidentially, until you are damn certain of them. Now, is it possible the ncaa is wrong? Sure. Is it possible the ncaa knows and simply cant prove? Very possible. But ou dont say that when all you have is your thumb up your butt.

He said it that the NCAA would accept our self imposed penalties (15 schollies lost, 2 yrs probation I think). His source was Gene Marsh on that. Marsh was a frick up and was telling anyone who would listen that it was going to be "ok". Marsh got us screwed & then got himself a role at NCAA. Now he represents people (Tressel) in trouble with NCAA.

I think he's recently said that OSU will get a 2 year TV ban as well.

No ~ He just didn't think we were gonna get hammered as bad as we did. I didn't think we'd get hammered that bad either.
