I think you are too dumb to understand the simplest point, but I am going to try anyway. I was responding to a statement that assumed the investigation ends with no sanctions against Auburn. Therefore, in my response, I used the same assumptions so that my response made sense in context. I hope all of these words joined together in sentences which form a logical thought don't tax your brain too much.

You do understnd that no evidence is not the same as not enough evidence, dont you? No evidence means they would have been out before 8 months passed. Not evidence means that they found enough to keep going, but not enough to warrant a full on guilty. Christ Cecil himself just had the opportunity to clear the air and say "no auburn didnt give us a dime" and he didnt take that opportunity. That doesnt strike any of you as a little weird?

then why did they interview John Bond (for one) about it?

All I know is that you seem to be very proud of this TMZ story and are placing your full faith in it. I guess you read TMZ before you run down to the grocery store to pick up your copies of People and National Enquirer.

Oh, and your TMZ scoop says this:

quote:

Bond’s attorney confirmed to TMZ that the FBI has requested a sit-down meeting with his client. According to the attorney, the FBI agent said “we are interested in whether young men are being shopped to colleges.”

The above snippet is exactly how I know your entire fantasy is utter bullshite.

The. FBI. Doesn't. Give. A. frick. About. College. Football. Recruiting.

Keep repeating the above, slowly, and one word at a time to yourself until you calm down. Breath into a paper bag. Use cold compresses.

Get help. Please.

No doubt about that. I have some concern, but this has been going on so long, with so many rumors that turn out to be untrue, that I will just wait for the official word one way or the other. I certainly will not presume guilt or innocence at this point.

one interview is involvement..

Ok, one last stab at logical discussion...Do you know the subject the FBI was discussing with Bond? I ask this because the FBI has a huge mandate, and does 1000's of interviews. Hell, I've been interviewed twice by the FBI myself. You are making a giant leap from "a shady guy's lawyer claims he was interviewed by the FBI" to "the FBI is investigating Auburn and Cam Newton's recruitment"

Yes, reporting based on an article from an entertainment/gossip website.

NOPE... Their source is the release from Bond's attorney to the AP.

quote:

Yes, his attorney released that info, yet the FBI never confirmed they had interviewed him.

Yeah... because attorney's and people go around every day saying they were interviewed by the FBI for shits and giggles. You are right.. my bad!

I understand. There is clearly evidence of wrong doing in the case. What there is no evidence of so far (at least not that anyone knows of), is that Auburn did anything wrong. The NCAA moves slowly. Just because the investigation has been open for the length of time it has does not mean they have uncovered some evidence against Auburn or anyone associated with Auburn. Cecil admitted to shopping Cam, so of course there is some evidence.

You seem to be a rational AU fan. Would you say that the majority of AU fans you know (not TD posters) share the same sentiment as you on this?

no one is rational on this site, and they are not rational merely because they say what you want to hear

I think most believe/hope that Auburn didn't roll in the mud with Cecil, but also know that there is a chance that an Auburn booster did. I feel like it is more likely than not that Auburn doesn't get in trouble for the Cam stuff, but may get in trouble for something found as a result of the NCAA looking so closely at AU.

I have a question for Auburn fans.

Are ya'll the least bit nervous about this investigation? If the NCAA considered LSU's violations to be 'major' then they will lower the boom on AU if everything being reported is deemed to be true.

I personally would be dreading the outcome

Nervous? no I am not. my attitude is and always has been if we did something wrong, prove it and whatever penalties are levied we deserve them.

I am not dreading the outcome at all - at the end of the day I am a fan of a team - what happens to said team would be a dissapointment, sure - but would in no way affect my life in a negative manner.

There may not be a smoking gun, but you dont find it the least bit suspicious that:

A) Cecil wanted money for his kid, but all of a sudden relented, or

B)Cecil had the chance in a recent interview to say Auburn didnt pay us and yet did not take the opportunity to say that?

Do you think Danny Sherridan is lying, and if so, what would he gain by lying?

Agree 100%. What they do care about is money crossing state lines, laundering, racketeering, etc. All of which would be possible crimes committed if a player was "bought" by a school (not saying Cam & AU, but any player to any school).

I believe Danny Sheridan believes what he is saying, I just am not certain that he or his source is right.
