the OPI is a legit grievance.

But they also got an easy TD off a
blocked punt that looked like the defender jumped over our wall, which is not legal.

it was in general a shite show.

But idk if i’ve ever seen a kicker get a second chance at a last second FG because of taunting.

Just because your fake coach with his fake accent doesn't know the rule, doesn't make it illegal.

Here is the text of the rule.

quote:

Leverage and Leaping
ARTICLE 11

a No defensive player, in an attempt to gain an advantage, may step, jump or stand on an opponent
b It is a foul if a defensive player moves forward and tries to block a kick or apparent kick on a field goal or try by leaving their feet and leaping into the plane directly above the frame of the body of an opponent It is not a foul if the player was aligned in a stationary position within one yard of the line of scrimmage when the ball was snapped
c It is a foul if a defensive player who is inside the tackle box tries to block a punt or an apparent punt by leaving their feet and leaping into the plane directly above the frame of the body of an opponent
1 It is not a foul if the player tries to block the punt by jumping straight up without attempting to leap over the opponent
2 It is not a foul if a player leaps through or over the gap between players
]d No defensive player, in an attempt to block, bat or catch a kick or apparent kick, may:
1 Step, jump or stand on a teammate
2 Place a hand(s) on a teammate to get leverage for additional height
3 Be picked up by a teammate, or be elevated, propelled or pushed

Not the best framing, but the player is clearly in the gap and the LSU player moves over to "block" him.

Here's the video.

The repetition of this false narrative over and over shows that people will believe anything they hear, without doing their own research or thinking objectively.

there is a difference between where you start your leap and where the end up after contact.

The player was directly over 89 when he leaped up, he went to the aide because this isn’t dirty dancing. blockers don’t just take you straight up.

According to physics and specifically Mr. Newton's First law of motion, you cannot change your body position once you leave the ground, unless you have a jet pack or something.

LSU fans are not only trying to change the rules of football, but they laws of the Universe as well...

A dead ball taunting foul would have resulted in.... what?

Dude, I'm a scientist by training. Don't quote Newton to me. I have it memorized.

But it's STILL not illegal because the player was IN THE GAP between players. For it to be illegal, you have to be leap "into the plane directly above the frame of the body of an opponent" If you contact two players when you leap, you're in the plane "directly above the frame of the body" your to the side. Your coach doesn't know or understand the rule.

'

15 yards and a retry. The game cannot end on a defensive penalty.

When posters have nothing but ad hominem personal insults to add, I know I'm

1). Getting under their skin,

and

2). Winning the battle

Please continue to insult me. Thank you.

Sorry, but the rule says it's not.

Because he's in the "gap between players" and that is legal per the rule.

That's what the SEC officiating office is going to tell Kelly anyway.

I seriously doubt taunting has ever been called on the last play of a game, also seriously doubt it ever will.
