There is no reason for Lane to be in the booth for any reason. Kudos to ESPN for denying it. The poor guy is absolutely shitting himself because he hasn't been the center of attention for a month now.

I know because I would hate him too, hell Saban left us for the NFL and we still hated him and hated even more for going to Alabama even though he didn’t leave us for Alabama, took 2 decades for LSU fans to start appreciating him again

I’m allowed to not want him to use our playoff game as a platform for his trolling. And seems ESPN agrees that it wouldn’t be the right move.

They didn't give him this option.
According to Ole Miss posters here, he was given an ultimatum to sign the extension after the Egg Bowl or he wouldn't be allowed to coach.

It’d be nice if he would move on. I’m in Nola for the game, so it won’t affect my viewing in the slightest. It’s an objectively odd thing to do, as you admit.
