They’ve only won 9 or more three times since Saban has been at Alabama.

And let's not forget that those years that Auburn's been crappy, it's in no small part because they're recruiting head to head against Saban. It's silly to not give Saban any credit for beating Auburn when they're down...he's a big reason why they're down when they are.

Neither of us can be proven wrong, but Meyer changed Florida football for the better I'd say and I'm not going to be upset over it.

Yes, he did...and then he let the program spiral out of control.

And would have won 9 in 2009, 2011 and 2014 if not for.......losing to Alabama.

No, but he is good.

^^Agreed. Ultimately it comes down to wins and championships. While I think Saban is nowhere near Urbs as an X's and O's guy, Saban is absolutely king as a machine guy. Saban knows how to install an effective system, adapt, and set it to destroy opponents. In the end, that matters more than who the better x's and o's guy is.

Let's not forget that Saban took over an LSU program coming off their worst decade in program history (by far) and then an Alabama program ravaged by sanctions.

Whole heartedly disagree. Saban made his bones as a defensive X's and O's guy. He and BB basically built an entire defensive concept.

In terms of in game wizardry and drawing up specific things for another team specifically to exploit them? Yea, I'd agree more with that.

Hell, wake me up when Nick Saban loses by 28 to Mike fricking Shula.

Yeah, I brought that up earlier.
To be fair, that Bama team did finish #8.

And that was Urbs first year. He also ran into a buzzsaw that day. Place was a hornet's nest.

And Florida finished #12.

No one here believes that if you'd had Saban coaching a Florida program going head to head against a Mike Shula coached Alabama team that Shula would ever have a team ranked ahead of Saban.

Gene Chizik and Sly Croom both did (and beat us).

Not to mention Charlie Weatherbie.

Isn't it obvious?

Why do you think all of these other programs keep poaching Urbans assistants?

Look at how well Meyer has done with such a constant staff turnover. Mind blowing.

Serious ANSWER: Hell NO

Urban getting blasted by 5 TDs to Iowa is like Saban getting blasted by Kentucky or Arkansas. Saban has never been blown out while at Bama. Once you see it happen to him, the end is near for him and he has lost that fire.

Urban needs a great QB to win big.

Saban has proven he can do it with scrubs.
