I lived in Texas for about 5 years in the mid 00's and worked with a number of people from the bigger Texas schools. As far as rivalries go I thought it was interesting how basically none of them had anything nice to say about the others whether it was Texas talking about A&M, A&M talking about Tx Tech, Tx Tech talking about Baylor, etc. It was like everyone had 10 way rivalries with everyone else.
But with that said in our office the Longhorns got along with the Raiders, the Raiders got along with the Baylors (forget what they are), the Baylors got along with the Longhorns and Raiders. But the Aggies got along with nobody except themselves; they literally couldn't get along with anyone and always seemed to play the victim.
It made for a very interesting office dynamic for sure.
But with that said in our office the Longhorns got along with the Raiders, the Raiders got along with the Baylors (forget what they are), the Baylors got along with the Longhorns and Raiders. But the Aggies got along with nobody except themselves; they literally couldn't get along with anyone and always seemed to play the victim.
It made for a very interesting office dynamic for sure.

I can't speak for Bama's office, but to me in a nutshell, it works like this.
Aggies who got their degree and got out and don't know who Johnny Football is -- all great.
For the rest:
Aggies individually: all fine people Almost always keep the weirdness in check if they know they are around fans of other schools. More polite than other fans if they are outnumbered.
Aggies in groups of three or more: Like being at a quidditch (sp?) match when you don't want to be there. Heaven help you if you are forced to go to a wedding or awards ceremony with multiple (non 2%er) aggies present.
Wonderful people but always find a way to inject group aggieness. It's their brand/schtick.

Top for me is Texas - arrogant assholes who are entitled to a degree that is hard to fathom. Mainly T-shirt fans, as actual graduates tend to be more reasonable. Just few in number
2. Baylor - rape enablers, and lee he’s in the worst way
3. Tech - trash fans - remember the goalpost incident well

This is why aggy has such a so-called strong alumni hiring network. No one else can stand them so they have to stick together like a pack of hyenas.

Let’s not get confused here.
There is no ranking of rivals for the aggy.
It’s texas from 1 to however many.
Have you ever read what they say about Texas?
It’s borderline deserving of a victim hotline. As if someone is whispering into the phone during a home invasion.
If sitting at a bar, aggy will ask you if you have 6 minutes to talk. It’s 95% about Texas......5% about Alabama.
“Do you know what they do?”
“Did you see what happened when Texas .......etc?”
“You know they cheat, right?”
“They ruined every conference”
During this 6 minute prepared speech, that probably gets handed out during their support meetings, if a man wearing burnt orange happens to walk by, aggy then gets silent.
Then points at longhorn , but his hand is hidden from the longhorn.....shielded via his own body. Then whispers, “thaaaaat iiiiis hiiiiiiim. “.
Conversation is over unless he wants to get verbal about how much money is in their endowment fund.

It’s aggy’s lack of self awareness that I find most endearing.
To answer OP’s question- aggy never really had time to form a hatred/ rivalry outside of the dreaded sips because for a century we were all they had. tu fixation is in the aggy DNA. Little brother syndrome is to aggy as spots are to a leopard.
Now they appear to be manufacturing some sort of rivalry with LSU which I think is great. I thoroughly have enjoyed watching them keep their freak flag flying for their new conference mates. Life isn’t the same without the dunce in the corner eating flies off of the windowsill.

This is a message board for SEC members to discuss topics related to the SEC. ..And of course texas fans have to show up and make a thread between A&M and Arkansas completely about themselves. They're the sloppy obnoxious drunk girl that can't stand of the thought of someone else having a conversation not centered on them.
