re: Way too Early 2026 Preseason Basketball Rankings

It all looks good but after hearing JT Toppin decided to return to Texas Tech I'd move them up into the Top 5. They are basically bringing back the entire team that should have beaten UF.

n Big 12 football, aggy was 6-10 vs. Texas Tech, 5-11 vs. Oklahoma and 5-11 vs. TEXAS.
That's about what I thought. The devil is always in the details.
But hey, they had a winning record against the MAC or whatever those mid-major leagues were.

Yes but when you're a Missouri fan you cling to any stat you can that reflects positively on your situation.

Not exactly a murderer's row there. Whats the record against each school in the Big 12 since that league was formed? Lots of dead weight when you think of the Baylors, Kansases, Iowa States, Colorados, etc during the time A&M was there.

Well, if my team looked like theirs week in and week out I'd want alcohol at the games too. It makes sense for the weaker programs to add alcohol to try and improve attendance.

They are the poster child of mediocrity. I can't see anyone caring enough to hit them with any sanctions.

A&M is a known brand worldwide. We have a huge enrollment and the Aggie Network is extremely powerful. The football program is a sleeping giant. Even Saban knows it.
Good grief, so is every other P5 university that's on TV. Sleeping giant doesn't shine anyone's shoes when you've been mediocre for 30 years.
You people brag about yourselves as if you're Harvard when all you really are is a big state supported school with marginal football, basketball, and baseball. At least Vandy is good at baseball.
re: The SEC needs to petition to disband divisions

Disbanding divisions would be the dumbest thing we can possibly do, especially if we are going to expand and add more teams.
It would be an unwieldy mob of teams, and scheduling would be ridiculous with everyone only able to play a portion of the teams.
We need some type of organization like the divisions provide so we're not using a bunch of complex rules to determine which of the four 10-2 teams plays Bama in the championship game each year.

re: Serious question for aggies: how do you rank your hatred of other Texas schools?
Posted by Bama94 on 6/12/19 at 10:52 am
I lived in Texas for about 5 years in the mid 00's and worked with a number of people from the bigger Texas schools. As far as rivalries go I thought it was interesting how basically none of them had anything nice to say about the others whether it was Texas talking about A&M, A&M talking about Tx Tech, Tx Tech talking about Baylor, etc. It was like everyone had 10 way rivalries with everyone else.
But with that said in our office the Longhorns got along with the Raiders, the Raiders got along with the Baylors (forget what they are), the Baylors got along with the Longhorns and Raiders. But the Aggies got along with nobody except themselves; they literally couldn't get along with anyone and always seemed to play the victim.
It made for a very interesting office dynamic for sure.

Utah 2008. That night just sucked. I got engaged right before that game, and the game was pretty symbolic of my marriage.

I'd take them in a heartbeat over the milkmen.
I've had enough bragging and mediocre athletics to last a lifetime in the 8 or 9 years they've been here and now completely understand why the B12 was so glad to get rid of them.
Besides, TT would be good for basketball and baseball. I don't recall them ever being very good in football, but they aren't any worse than what we already have.
